ECW was way ahead of its time when it comes to doing PPV's in a cool fashion.
I have a question....
Was the concept of WWE's PPV Cyber Sunday copied from ECW Cyberslam?

No ECW Cyberslam I think was just a way for ECW to be innovative by being the first company to get involved with the internet. WWF.com might have been around but I'm not sure. The format wasn't voting or anything like Cyber Sunday though.
If I remember right I think most of the ECW fan at the ECW Arena didn't like that they picked an internet based theme because the internet was considered really nerdy back then.

The Cyberslam concept was mainly a forum of people who picked an ECW Arena date (usually in February) and had a little "convention". ECW fans from around the world would converge on this little building holding no more than 1,000 people.

The whole nerd wrestling fan didn't come about until the internet which I'm sure is what invented the stereotype with in itself.

Keyword: WWF was on AOL since 94 or 95 I believe. WWF.com started in 96 or 97. WWF.com even in the early days was always very loaded with content back then there was lots of pictures of the WWF girls as scantilly clad as possible. It was much much much better done than WCWwrestling.com (WCW didn't have wcw.com until about 1999 if I remember right). Someone in the WWF saw the potential for the web very early on.. and they really found a way to exploit it in the last 5 years.
