Just saw a match on Youtube....New Jack Vs Bam Bam Bigelow from Wrestlepalooza and heard some rock track in the background. Did some of the ECW PPV matches have background music....esp. rock music. Just wondering. I am soooooo confused!

It was only during New Jack's matches.

I would seriously doubt "Natural Born Killarz" by Dr Dre and Ice-T can be considered "rock music".
And that was New Jack's thing. And it was awesome because most everything ECW ever did was awesome.

I actually hated that. It used to give me a headache while watching New Jack's matches.

Funniest thing that happened when that song was playing was at the four-team match at N2R 1997. The ECW Tag Champion Full-Blooded Italians (Little Guido & Tracey Smothers...he was from "Southern" Italy) vs. Balls Mahoney & Axl Rotten vs. The Dudleys vs. The "Gansgta-nators" (New Jack & Kronus).
When New Jack & Kronus hit the ring, the music would play over and over...until I think Kronus got pinned. The music stopped, as did the fan heat. Once that music stopped (cause there was no more New Jack in the match) the fans could give two craps about who wins. (And Joey Styles was over-pushing the fact Axl & Balls never won the belts, which meant they weren't winning them that night, either.)

Yeah, New Jack's matches, gimmick and interest relied a lot on that track. It was just another example of Heyman and company being ahead of the curve when it came to covering up people's weaknesses and fitting them in, rather than wishing them well on their future endeavors because "creative" couldn't up with anything.

The theme actually fit in perfectly with New Jacks character. The guy was no Dean Malenko or Bob Backlund, but if there's one thing he brought to the table was violence and plenty of weapons to use, which made for good ECW TV.
