Time was, and this wasn't too long ago, the Knockout division was the headline of TNA. It was a good women's division. Now it just seems that TNA has nothing for it. What's worse, it has terrible angles like the clustersmurf that was the Governor at a time when there wasn't much going on anyway. So, what the heck happened to them?

Loss of direction after their booker (D'Amore) and top star (Gail) left is my guess. Theyre starting to pick back up again though.

Funny you should mention that. In the past 2 weeks, it's showed signs of recovering. Prime reason: The Beautiful People have taken driver's seat of late. Angelina Love is getting a title shot at Lockdown (against Kong and Taylor Wilde is in the match too). They still, however, need to give them at least 10 minutes in the ring! I reckon Scott D'Amore and Gail Kim leaving were big factors in it going bad, but I also bet TNA management were pissed that the women became the highlight of the show. Their segments are still among the Top 2 or 3 highest rated segments on the show, however.
The Governor has been scrapped this past week. Daffney is back!
For several months it was as bad as the WWE Divas stuff. Now all they need to do is take the title off Kong, take Kong off TV for a while (she has injuries that need recovering from), let Love run the show and feud her with Roxxi.
In the meantime scrap the Raisha Saeed gimmick and let her wrestle as her indy persona, give the remaining Knockouts something meaningful to do and remove Rhaka Khan from the division.

But if they took Rhaka Kahn out of the division, who would we confuse with Grape Drank Sojo? Saeed was Cheerleader Melissa, right? Yeah, if they let Kong recover, they should absolutely bring that back.

Gail Kim left for WWE. Scott D'Amore is gone.
TNA likes having people in bad gimmicks.

The whole Governor thing was stupid but I think everyone should have known that they would eventually scrap it and just have her do the psycho Daffney gimmick. I'm guessing she might even take Roxxi's place since technically Roxxi from what I have seen hasn't really gotten over.
Also another big factor that slowed down the division was Hemme getting injured. I think they wanted to do a big push for her but it didn't happen.
Overall the division is very talented and probably the best talented female division ever in one wrestling organization. WWE's isn't bad either but they have a lot of filler girls who can't wrestle and most of the ones that can wrestle only wrestle half as good as the girls in TNA.

Overall the division is very talented and probably the best talented female division ever in one wrestling organization. Ever? I'd argue it's not even the #1 female division at the moment. Those Shimmer girls are very impressive, and that's not even getting into the joshi leagues.

Yeah, if they let Kong recover, they should absolutely bring that back. How do you confuse Rhaka and Sojo? Rhaka is the tall one. And I like the Saeed character. It's interesting and isn't the usual generic woman deal. The division is definitely getting better after hitting that slow patch. The beautiful people always seem to do a good job. Hopefully it keeps up.

They brought Kong in and made her too dominant.

I cant blame them for making Kong so dominate. Take a look at her and look at everyone else and there's like no one who deserves to beat her because it wouldnt be very believable. Rhaka is probably the only one I'd buy into being able to beat her because she's so tall thus somewhat psychically imposing.

Christy Hemme got injured, like, right after she won the belt, didn't she?
That killed the division - not having the titleholder actually wrestling or even showing up.

I still think the reason Melissa won't be Melissa is because she want's to keep that gimmick if she's released

Same thing that happened to the X-Division. (No, not Russo!! ) It's tough to keep things fresh. Sooner or later, you're going to hit a dry spell. Losing the booker who made it what it was (D'Amore) and it's top star (Gail) certainly didn't help, either.

What bugs me is that they build the inexperienced Christy Hemme and the tiny little Taylor Wilde as legit threats to Kong, while the tough, strong, and popular ODB is routinely destroyed by her in under five minutes.
