TNA continues to send out feelers to Ric Flair, but he has said several times he's not interested in joining them. Flair is not contractually eligible to join TNA until Monday, March 30, 2009 based on the terms of his release from World Wrestling Entertainment last August. TNA is expected to make a substantial offer to Flair after the date.
His reality show is currently being shopped around with multiple offers on the table. The show will be based around Ric and son Reid living together as bachelors with Ric living vicariously through his son. He will be training him to be a professional wrestler, show him how to pick up women, and live life like how he did.
Reid will be teaming up with brother David in a series of tag matches over the next two months which includes a stop at a Millennium Wrestling Federation show in New England where Ric will manage his sons in one corner and John Cena's father will manage two other wrestlers in another corner.

While Flair would be an obvious choice for the MEM, and a coup of sorts for TNA, they really haven't thought this through imo.
While he can still put on a show if he has to, his best days are inarguably now behind him, and if they were planning on having the Nature Boy join the Mafia, they are simply going to go up against the problems they had with Sting, namely at this stage of his career it's unlikely that the fans will boo Flair while cheering on Joe, AJ or whoever.
Add in the fact that even in the more casual fan's eyes, Flair "retired" when he left the 'E, and had a marvellous sendoff to boot, and I honestly think that trying to get him on board is a bad idea. The money they would use to get Flair under contract could be better spent on other things.

This is what I would do with Flair:
Flair comes into TNA as an anti-MEM babyface.
Eric Young becomes starstruck, begins copying Flair even more.
Flair gets pissed at EY continually bothering him.
EY focuses more on winning Flairs respect than beating the MEM.
EY, Creed and Lethal almost beat MEM in a six-man, only for EY to mess up whilst trying to emulate Flair, costing them the match
Flair snaps at EY. EY becomes dissappointed in himself.
Nash is seen talking to Lethal.
Jay Lethal calls out Young for not saving him. EY tries to apologize. Lethal snaps at him and badmouths Flair, EY brawls with Lethal.
MEM ask for tag match with Young/Lethal. FL almost win until Lethal turns on Young. Beats the hell out of him.
Lethal becomes delusional, egotistical, paranoid heel. (King Machismo?)
MEM attempt to recruit Lethal. Lethal turns them down/disrespects them.
MEM attempt to recruit Young. Young declines. Young and Flair fight side-by-side against MEM.
Lethal wins Legends title.
Young wins opportunity for Legends title.
Young beats Lethal, wins Legends title, gains Flairs respect.

TNA spends a fortune for a feud that doesn't involve any one that remotely matters to their ratings.

I don't see any advantage to signing Flair. He has been openly dismissive of TNA in the past, so it would be clear he's only there for money, and it would cost a hell of a lot. Further, he cannot wrestle any more and his promos are barely comprehensible with ihs combination of slurring and rambling.

At this stage in the game - TNA would gain nothing by signing Ric Flair. I don't think he's going to ruin the wonderful sendoff the WWE gave him. That's just my opinion. I think Flair's done - I would like to see that reality show, though.

Ric Flair in the MEM?
I can't see that one working at all because with the exception of Sting Flair pretty much hates the rest of the members in the group as do they with him, besides to my knowledge don't Flair and Russo still hate each other over what happened between them in WCW?
I'd say TNA would be out of there mind to try and sign him because he'd just phone it all in just like what Mick Foley is going right now not to mention the WWE's wonderful send off they gave him.

I think a mentor-type storyline with Flair might work, especially if Sting still has the title. If anyone can get Sting booed, it's Flair. Flair is custom made to go up against the MEM in some fashion. But stay out of the ring, not because I care about the sendoff he got, but there are much better wrestlers on the roster. What there isn't much of, especially among the young guys, is mic skills. Who better to learn from, really?
I just don't see either EY or Lethal as main eventers. Young has charisma, but I would use him to elevate others since he's probably perma-over in TNA. He just doesn't seem like the guy to carry the company. I think Lethal's gimmick is holding him back, but he's still young and he may show us some main event qualities yet. I'm not sure Flair associating with Hernandez would work. Morgan might work, but he just turned heel. Joe and AJ already did the mentor thing. Maybe a babyface Beer Money? A more serious Abyss? Abyss should definitely be in the Frontline, anyway.

I think a major problem with the faces in TNA is while they are very athletically talented, they really just don't connect with the fans. Almost all of the main event faces of the past (Hogan, Sting, DDP, Rock, Austin, etc) could connect with the fans. Samoa Joe can cut a great promo, but he really doesn't give the fans a reason to care about him. The only faces in TNA that I can think of that currently do connect with the fans are Team 3D. I would also say that Eric Young, Consequences Creed, and Shane Sewell connect with the fans to some extent, but they aren't at the main event level either.

Dude as much as I wanted to see one more Stinger/Nature Boy showdown I don't want Flair in TNA nor do I think it would be a good idea for the long haul. A short run maybe but it would depend on the money he wanted and frankly Flair can hold up JJ and Dixie for as much as he wants if they really want him. His send off was as great as anyone could possibily want why tarnish it. He won't go to TNA

Ric Flair is never going to sign with TNA if anything it wouldn't surprise me if Flair went back to the WWE because Flair and McMahon are now back on good terms.

I had a dream that I was watching a TNA PPV and Flair was wrestling in a mask in the main event and then took off the mask and received a huge pop

I see Flair hopping over to ROH with the HDNet thing now if he's going to be a mentor type position.

I can only see the Nature Boy in that promotion if they put him in the Black Scorpion robes.

This would be the near-equivalent of Michael Jordan retiring at the top of his game after making the game-winning shot in the 1998 NBA Finals, then coming back and sucking it up with the Wizards for two years. In other words, he should stay retired from wrestling.
