You know I have always wondered why they get so much criticism and are never put on par with tag teams like Demolition, Road Warriors, and Steiner Brothers.
I think they are easily as good as those teams and in some ways even better.
Obviously the first three teams were around when the golden age of tag team competition but I think mic wise and in some case ring work wise Team 3-D is actually better overall in some ways.
Not to say that the other teams aren't better in other ways than Team 3-D though. They all were in better shape than Team 3-D and I would put the Steiner's ring work above them too.
I just don't see why Team 3-D is so hated and gets so much criticism. Especially on the internet.

I think a lot of comes from the hate of Bubba, at least with me. I mean he's fat, he's horrible in the ring, he's fat, he moves at glacial speed, he has pretty much swiped his in-ring style and (face) shtick from Mick Foley and personally his mic work is overrated mostly because it isn't 1999 anymore.
I also think it's because for most of their career (obviously the TLC days notwithstanding) they haven't had great tag teams to play off of. If the Midnights hadn't had the Rock n Rolls would they be remembered as such? I think the Steiners get by even though for most of their career they didn't have great competition because of their great in ring work.

the dudleys are fine don't listen to marks like ^
He/They have played Heels a majority of their career and a majority of people on this board can't see past Heels who are old faces now.

what? wrestling's not real? you just crushed my life
wait-- Bubba's still fat and slow and relies on the same things he did 8 years ago? Yeah that's what I thought.
I loved their work in ECW and could really get a crowd lathered up but the fact is it doesn't work anymore. Wrestling has evolved

Evidently it still does work, considering how insanely over Ray was when he returned.

Evidently it still does work, considering how insanely over Ray was when he returned. I agree. A while ago I didn't know if they were as good at getting the crowd wound up as they once were but I saw them at a TNA house show a couple of years ago here in Kasnas City and damn did they get heat. I mean they literally almost had this chick jumping over the guardrail trying to get at them.

i think theyre severely overrated, wwe's hype machine made them look like a million bucks with the whole most decorated tag team of all time schtick, but looking at the numbers only 2 of their ecw tag title reigns came after ecw gained 'world title status', so calling them the most decorated tag team is like calling jerry lawler the most decorated world champion, sure theres a bunch of titles but not all of them meant anything
outside of that, its real easy to be over as a heel when you can swear at the audience and do the kinds of things that they did in ecw, id also argue that it was pretty easy to get over in the attitude era too, i really dont remember them doing anything of consequence since around 02 and i think fan interest in them since then has been down
and ofcourse theres the fact that bubbas fat and slow and looks ridiculous out there, and when d-von is the best worker of a team it speaks volumes about them, i actually find your average LOD squash match far more interesting than anything the dudleys have done since the end of the tlc era

The only problem I've had with Team 3D is when they claim to have been "WCW Tag Team Champions". Aside from that, I think they are one of the greatest tag teams in history. The Natural Distasters (Earthquake and Typhoon) weren't physically fit either, but I also consider them one of the great tag teams.

I was pretty bored with them in the early part of their TNA stint, thought they were just taking up space. But they improved considerably with the heelturn and have beaten the odds and stayed interesting to me since becoming faces again.
I don't think their promo-work is played at all.

They did go through the phase of the fans shouting "same old s***" at them. Then I think gradually people realised that there isn't actually anything wrong with wrestlers using the same moves and repertoire, especially when they are as good at it as 3D. I like them, probably always will. Just don't let D'Von on the mic too often.

I laughed my buttock off at the two times Ray said "Obama gets elected and suddenly Devon does all the talking" or whatever. Is that bad?

I also have no problem with them, although that has probably to do with the fact that I follow wrestling since 2005 again, thus I am probably not as burned out on them as others.

They are a solid, experienced tag team that any wrestling company would be happy to have if they want to build a tag team division.
Are they on the level of previous great power teams? I'd say yes.

Quick, name one great Dudleys match.
And notice how said match not stunt-show, so the TLCs are out.

I would actually really love to train at their school. The dudleys are good at what they do, but teh mark in a lot of people doesnt like them, which is a good thing as theyre heels, theyre not meant to be liked
