Best way to beat the WWE? Get off Spike and onto FX and push a much more edgy wrestling product than the WWE, and do what the WWF did to WCW. 1. Create new stars 2. Deliver edgy angles 3. T&A Wait why FX? And I have an idea Cornette: Play by Play Foley: Colour WIN WIN WIN!!

1. More X on a pole matches... 2. Bring back career gimmicks circa 1980s 3. keep bringing in past their prime wrestlers to be the main focus of your show and keep them there. WCW did that and see where it got them? Well WCW was did make 350 million dollars in 1998, when they were doing this. They did mix in guys in their prime, and younger wrestlers. This perception that WCW died because too many old guys were on top is silly. WCW died because of bad management after success, getting nervous about the WWF resurgence and hiring Russo, and eventually after a larger company purchased Time Warner, they didn't want wrestling on their TV. I mean WWE gets 3.0 ratings every week. And WCW was pulling in 3's up until September 2000, and even got up to a 6 rating. So....... they did some stuff right. Oh I know... and throw in the fact that david arquette and Vince Russo were both champs at one point, plus 5 straight title reigns ended because the titles were vacated, and you have the beginnings of the reasons for WCW's decline. But back to my reasoning...For WCW, eventually it was the fact that all their main stars were the main stars for so long, that when it finally came around time to use someone new, they had no/little credibility. (See Chris Benoit, Sid Vicious, Jeff Jerrett, Booker T, Scott Steiner) You could argue some/most/all (as these guys were the ones going after the US title less than a year prior, could be used in either side of the arguement). But to me all of them had a real feeling of "where did they come from?" to it cause these guys were constantly in the shadows of(and usually jobbing to) the big names.

If TNA ever does beat the WWE, then at least we won't have to hear the "it was all because of Ted Turner's money" excuse.

It happens everywhere. You could also argue that you go with who brought you to the dance. I was very upset Jericho, Benoit, and Booker weren't the top guys in the beginning of 1999. But you can look at any company through history and whoever plays politics best always try to keep their spot. I agree though, at a certain point in WCW it was upsetting.

Nip Tuck, The Shield, Always Sunny... a more mid to late 90's wrestling program would fit in there much better.

I'll suggest how in one step:
Book the show and matches in such a way that people want to cheer the faces and boo the heels. Having some post match beatdowns and calling it a day doesn't cut it. If people have some sort of emotional investment in the show a more diverse audience of casual fans will watch also to join with the current viewers, 95% of which are relatively hardcore wrestling fans.
Once they do this and thusly draw a little more money, they can safely afford to have Impact show at several venues, rather than just at the Impact Zone where the audience consists half of people that are at every taping and pop for almost nothing, half of people that aren't even wrestling fans and were just at Universal already, and ALL of which didn't pay an entrance fee to watch the show.

I just think they need to be on a different channel. WCW was on 2 main cable channels, TBS and TNT, granted, Ted owned both channels. someone had to see it at some point while changing channels. try to get on a major tv station where people would see the advertisements. i'm sure that most casual wwe fans have never heard of TNA Impact.

Someone mentioned Mick Foley as a suggestion, I second this notion all the way to the White House.

1, Fire Russo 2. Kill Russo 3. Hire Heyman Well, I've heard an onair broadcast of murder would be a pretty high ratings getter. I have a feeling Hulk Hogan would lend an appearance free of charge, hell, even pay to appear on that episode given the way he speaks of Russo.
