I don't want to be a TNA basher, but that Eric Young/Petey Williams vs. Steiner/Booker match captures what I think is wrong with TNA. I mean it should be a big match between the Frontline and the MEM, and Petey should gain some sort of revenge on Steiner, but what happens? Steiner and Booker dominate the both of them, and it really feels like the whole match was made to promote a wrestler vs. ref feud. Awful.

You pretty much summed it up. Petey and Young got thrown under the bus so that Booker and Sewell(spelling?) could get their feud over.

But if Petey had come out and in some way demolished Booker and Steiner, wouldn't we now be reading posts that said "What a load of crap, there was no build-up, what a wasted opportunity, Petey is the new Cena etc etc"?
Granted, they shouldn't have made Petey look SO weak; instead of the MEM going for the pin and then lifting his head at the 2-count they could have had Petey summoning his last ounce of strength and JUST managing to kick out each time, but I'm still hopeful that we'll get a surprise victory out of him, leading to a worthwhile payoff.
TNA's biggest problem in this respect is that we all know what is coming (so we think at least), then get frustrated when it doesn't come in a way or at a time that we expect.

As I haven't read any spoilers yet, I would sure hope that they build to a Petey-Steiner match at Against All Odds that Petey hopefully comes out victorious of. The weak booking of him in the tag match was hopefully just an accident.

Well, after EY got eliminated it was pretty much a 2 on 1 match. I think it's just another case of TNA trying to present him as an underdog, so that it means more when he actually beats Steiner.

I figured Petey would at least get a quick roll up and eliminate Booker or Stiener, instead of having the match end up 2-0, but once the match was over it really seemed like they had the match just to progress the Booker Shane fued. Also, I'd be very surprised if Petey ever beats Steiner the way the Frontline MEM fued has been booked. It's made no sense to me.

I didn't mind that he was toast once it became 2-on-1, but he really should get a shot at redemption against Steiner. The crowd digs Petey, let him get some heat.

Petey's return was underwhelming to begin with. The audience barely reacted, and even West and Tenay were like "Hey, Petey Williams is here", which Tenay, as usual, tried to make up for in overexuberance by screaming "MISSILE DROPKIIIIIIICCCKKK!!!"
I don't think Petey will ever be as over as he was with Team Canada.

And really, who thinks Scott Steiner is taking the Destroyer?

It didn't help that he came back still looking like a Steiner clone. Where was the logic in that?

I'd say Scott D'Amore did more in the way of getting heat for Petey and Team Canada than Petey did for himself.

Come on, who REALLY thinks EY and Petey Williams could beat Booker T and Scott Steiner anyway? It's as unbelievable as Hulk Hogan vs. Billy Kidman.

I'll agree that Petey remaining as a Steiner look-a-like is one thing that made absolutely no sense to me.

I thought it looked really stupid that when EY was pinned, Petey just stood there on the ring apron. He could've at least tried to break up the pinfall. But I guess that would've made the match take longer, and they needed that time for...something. I can't even remember.

Are TNA faces supposed to be incredibly self absorbed, or are they just booked that way?
