If there is someone you want to fire, but can't either because you will owe a ton of money buying out a written contract, or because maybe he is friends with everyone and their mother and you don't want to piss your whole roster off, I have a tip. The key is to make them quit on their own. Basically just do everything you can to upset them -- drop them from Upper Midcarder down to Jobber, give them a Paperboy gimmick, job them out to women, etc. When their morale gets low enough, you can offer a release and they will accept. You do not have to buy out their contract, and their friends/loyalties will not be mad since they technically left on their own. The one catch is that once you release someone with ultra low morale, you can never hire them again. I mean you *can*, but their morale will resume where it left off. If someone leaves because they hate you, they will hate you forever from that point on. So there's no point. Yep. Ultimate Warrior Hates me in the year 1991...

I thought it was free like EWR! Is it even worth it? It's made by the same guy and worth it almost 20 times over. Download a demo and try it out

Can I just ask, how can they charge money for it, when it uses real-lfife wrestlers and copyrighted names and such? Isn't that like, plagarism?

Real-life mods are user-created content, so theres no plagarism. The default data that it comes with is a fictional universe. It's made entirely by Adam Ryland and, as such, no completly out-of-proportion stats like one would get in the real-life mods.

Okay I was looking more into TEW and was reading the only FAQ at gamefaqs for the '04 version when the guy who wrote it says this
'Total Extreme Wrestling introduces an interesting concept. Unlike Ryland's previous games (which I won't mention by name since he's been trying to distance himself from them) which basically had you make a show by number of segments, TEW causes you to book segments by length in minutes.'
Is this true? And if so why has/was he? Or is it simply because he didn't want people to know there was a free lite version of TEW out there anymore?

Anybody here ever had a shwo that totally didn't click?
i just ran a Smackdown that flopped. Every backstage segment was a disaster. I had my #3 face in HHH, with 96 overness, attack a heel authority in Regal with 84 overness, and HHH lost 2 points of overness and the segment got a 79.
Every single match's OVR was BELOW the middle ponit of the crowd and quality. For instance, my main event tag match had a 92 crowd response and 83 quality, yet only got 80 overall. Another was 77 crowd, 80 quality, 70 overall. Another was 81 crowd, 85 quality, 74 overall. Another was 59 crowd (weak i know), 72 quality, but 58 overall. A segment for one of my most over feuds, between Cm Punk and MVP, got a 73.
Another was between 2 of my top cruiserweights in Noble and Mistico, who have overnesses of 74 and 70, with a run-in from a cruiser with 80+ overness, and was for the CW title. It got a 62 crowd rating.
Anybody else ever had shows that, for whatever reason, bombed, and every match was great in crowd and quality but got an awful OVR? Or has anybody ever had a show where the crowd were just totally dead and barely reacted for even the top guys?

THIS JUST IN:
Abyss got over with a "Nerd" gimmick. If I was feeling more ambitious, I would photoshop a depiction of what this may look like.

Briscoes vs MCMG World Tag Title Match, quality 100 crowd 98 ovr 87 wtf! Also previous to this I had a match between the same 2 teams on a card where everything else got overalls in the middle except their match which got quality 100 crowd 100 ovr 98!

I've read before that there is a type of glitch that was put in the game called the "one of those days" glitch. When this happens, the whole show, for whatever reason just doesn't click. This happens every now and again and you can't really get around it.

I'm not sure he is actually trying to distance himself from them, It's just that he is moving onto newer games and want those to be recognized as his best stuff. Besides, TEW 04 wasn't a technically great game. It was just EWR with the ante upped a little bit.

Aside from that, I forget the frequency in which it's supposed to happen (1 of 10 shows sounds about right, but I'm going to have to check it).

Yeah, well you can never get a 100 OVR match. I didn't even know you could get a 100 crowd reaction. But yeah, that 1st Briscoes/MCMGs one, ouch. But at least you didn't have it happen with every match on the card. My show should've got around an 80% Rating or more on paper, yet got just 73%. And I don't think it's every 1 in 10 shows, as I've ran 22 other shows that haven't had this happen. I've only had it happen once before, and that was just in 1 match, not the whole show.

Sorry I didn't explain very well, it did happen in every match! Only thing is not every feud has the chemistry that Briscoes/MCMG have so you can imagine what the rest was like. I agree I don't think it's every 1 in 10 either it was almost a year since I last got a show like this then I got 2 in a row, 1 tv show, 1 ppv?! Maybe I'm just paying the price for having way too many upper midcarders and little to no undercard talent!
