...By 5am. My plan was drift off at 9:30, wake up at 4:00, shower, and walk a half hour to work. Unfortunately, this never works when I have to do these shifts, and it's made worse by the fact that now, it's decided to be almost 80 degrees outside for the first time all summer. So, I'm hoping to go in early and at least try to nap on the couch at work.
Someone say a prayer for me.

I actually pull all nighters before work all the time (more so lately because of the heat). You only really start to drift off during your break shifts. Just don't get any sleep in before the shift. Cold water to the face helps too!

I feel your pain, man. I essentially pull an all-nighter every Sunday/Monday. I work the third shift, which means I go in at midnight on Sunday (technically Monday). Over the weekend, I enjoy sleeping during the dark hours for a change, and when Sunday rolls around I get up in the morning like a normal person, stay up all day, go in at midnight and work through my shift in a daze. Man, my bed always feels great on Monday morning.

Sleep is a waste of time. I get five hours of sleep a night and I'm fine.

Want help sleeping? Try a small handful of sesame seeds.. they have the highest level per weight of any food of triptophan an amino acid that helps you sleep and without the protein that will negate it.

I'll keep that in mind. works better than any sleeping aid ive ever tried, same for a couple of friends of mine who tried it. Unless you have colitis its safer than any harsh drug.

Our father, who art McMahon. Vincent be thy name... Thy Hunter come, They all will run, On Raw as they do on Smackdown. Give us this day our daily jobber, and forgive us oh undertaker. As we forgive the rock for tresspassing against us. And lead us not into this very ring, but deliver us from hell in a cell. Amen.

I am in the same boat as the threadstarter here lately and I have tried everything from taking four Benadryl to two Unisom to drinking a few adult beverages (no not at the same time as the pills) before going to sleep and nothing seems to work. I have tried taking hot showers, cold showers, fans on, fans off, tv and/or radio on, tv and/or radio off. I have tried just about everything that I can think of, and still cant get anymore than maybe 45 minutes of sleep. So do you have any other suggestions.

I just had this happen to me yesterday.
I had to be to work at Midnight (to work until 8:30 a.m.). I had my nephew's B-day party from 1-4 (I had to help set up at 9). I helped clean up as well, and didn't get home until around 6:30. My plan was to sleep from 8-11:30. I kept tossing and turning, not being able to fall asleep.
I made it through the night. But, by 7 a.m., I was starting to sleepwalk.
