Obviously we're not sure what the plan was for Jericho and Edge as unified tag team champs, but Edge's injury just as obviously flushes whatever those plans were down the toilet. So where does Jericho go from here? They appear to have clearly finished his feud with Mysterio, and Punk is taking over the top heel spot on Smackdown. Jericho appears to be left without a clear role.
Meanwhile, the show is a bit lacking in depth for main event faces. Jeff Hardy may be leaving the company for a while, it seems doubtful they're ready to pull the trigger on Morrison, and I don't think anybody's going to buy Rey taking another run at the WHC.
So what's the solution to either or both of these problems? The ideal fix would be to kill two birds with one stone and make Jericho a face again, but that's far easier said than done. He may be the most hated heel in the company right now and it would take a long time to believably turn him, and while he can play either side well, he's at his best as a heel.

I keep Jericho heel, and slow burn the Jericho/Edge confrontation at Mania. With that crew, they can keep Jericho and Punk both as heels, and keep them with entertaining programs through Mania. Punk still has a full fledged feud with Rey to do, Jericho has a full fledged Morrison feud to do. Punk has a new Morrison feud waiting for him, Jericho and Jeff still have a real feud to pull out. I assume WWE is throwing the bank at Jeff at this point, so I'm leaning towards him staying personally. There's always the option of moving Christian over as well, opening up a lot of new possiblities.

Why would they turn Jericho heel? He's the only true main event heel left on SD. If anything, he needs to be put against Morrison to get him up to the ME.

They should probably go ahead and start up some Jericho/Morrison feudage now. It would certainly be good for Morrison since Jericho is like the new JBL. Anyone that goes against him automatically is a huge fan favorite because the crowd hates Jericho a lot.

I say put Jericho/Morrison together. That feud could potentially make Morrison with Jericho's skills. Jericho could definately help Morrison with his mic skills and such. If Undertaker can make a Summerslam return, you could do Punk/Taker for Summerslam.

Elevate Khali to take on Jericho. It would be something different.

They might put Jericho in the Punk/Hardy deal. He's too good to be going against someone like Morrison and he's already beat up Kane time and again. Jericho will surely be against Taker or Edge by Mania 26.

"Too good for Morrison" is a bit much, I'd say. They had Morrison pin the freakin' champ, he can beat Jericho.
That being said, I hope Jericho just brings in a temporary teammate so as to not forfeit the belt. Then again, a tourny WOULD be pretty damn cool.

If they don't give him another partner, feud with him Morrison. No problem there at all.
