In case you haven't noticed (understandable since he hasn't gotten to hit his finisher much lately, what with not winning any matches OHHHH SNAP!!!)...
...MVP's finisher is still the Playmaker, aka the Overdrive, aka the "finisher which doesn't look like it could possibly hurt my 85-year-old grandmother," aka the "Lame finisher they give new guys until they come up with something cooler" (didn't Randy Orton used to use it?)...except that it's been three frelling years and nothing cooler has come along.
I'm probably reading too much into it, but the fact that they haven't developed a credible finisher for MVP in all this time is as big an indicator as any that WWE doesn't have any serious plans to make him a main event guy with a bigger role in the company any time in the foreseeable future.

The Drive-by Kick is damn credible, but he doesn't do it anymore. Never understood why he went back to the Playdate, as it should rightfully be called, thanks to The Score's Closed Captions.

Yeah, both the running Big Boot and Drive By are going to be totally overshadowed. Not that they're great as finishers on their merits, though just about anything is a step up from the Overdrive. As a side note, is it tasteless to give an ex-con former gang member a move called the "Drive By," or am I reading too much into that, too? |

The Overdrive is just a placeholder finisher until someone comes up with a better. But, apparently, MVP just said, "f*** it! I'll stick with this."

The only way I can buy the drive-by kick as a finisher is when it's done to an opponet caught in the corner, like the one to Jeff in their SummerSlam match. Other than that, MVP never had a good finisher, it's really time for the guy to move on to some new. Possibly a submission hold, maybe an ankle lock.

The drive by shining kick thing(official name?) was cool and the overdrive BLOWS,still the biggest plaeholder finisher is either the PH Slam or Chokeslam!

If I had the link I'd direct you to Kneelift's trhead about doing a shoot Overdrive, which damn near twisted her victim's head off.
That thread made me say "Ok, maybe the Overdrive ain't so bad a finisher".

MVP should just start using the Mic Check now that Kennedy isn't around. It's quick, effective, and can be hit on anyone, big or small (the hallmark of a great main event finisher).
