Im 17 and im in a Judo class at a place called the Fighting Spirit Dojo in my hometown of Minster, Ohio. The instructor is one half of the old Orient Express team, Pat Tanaka. Being a huge wrestling thats the main thing that attracted me to the class. Anyway this is the most exciting that has ever happened in our hick @$$ town. He is friends with HBK and Hulk Hogan, and has been trying to get them to come here. The guy is pretty cool. He hooked me up with a free HBK and WM 22 t shirt. The kendo stick hurts like hell too. This may not be a big deal to anyone else but i think its cool. Let me know what you guys think

Ohio must be the place for wrestlers. My uncle and his friends are pals with Al Snow, and we see him at the mall and stuff in Lima a lot. Nice guy. Really. He helped my uncle get me tickets to a show for my birthday when I was still in High School...

OVW is based out of Louisville, Kentucky; named after the Ohio River.
I know this because most of my family (on my father's side) lives there. I was hoping to go to a show there, once, but spare my dad, NO ONE is a wrestling fan. When they found out I was, they were embarassed for me. At least they had no right to question my intelligence...

That is why I hate living in Cincy. Well not really, but people land in the Cincinnati air port..... in Kentucky. Ugh.
BUt hey, i saw Jimmy Yang had an ad in the paper about teaching a class around here. NOt sure if it was a one time deal or not.

You lucky....
I also come from a little hick town called Greenville, Ohio (about 40-50 miles away from Minster), and we have NOTHING. Our biggest personality died 80 years ago (Annie Oakley), and our biggest current personality is a guy who plays on the New England Patriots. We never get anything good. Last time a wrestling organization came by, the highlight of the show was Buff Bagwell. Our town doth vaccummate.

Tell Tanaka that there are people who still enjoy going back and watching him and Paul Diamond work.

The orient express used to job alot and there was even a 3rd member,a guy with a mask.Tanaka's best work was when he teamed up with Paul Diamond in the AWA for a tag team called "Bad Company". They were managed by Diamond Dallas Page.

Vinnie Mac, I have seen several episodes of HWA on UPN at home. The action was ok at best, since most of the wrestlers are younger and still haven't got the knack that some of the WWE wrestlers do.

judo with tanaka must be absolutely nuts. Judo first off hurts if youre thrown wrong and dont know how to back/side fall properly, but with an ex-wrestler like tanaka? ouch
