So what was so "new" about the New Freebirds ? At this point, Jimmy and Michael has been a tag team for about five years. The only thing I noticed was that they dropped the southern rock look with the rebel flags and all, and they adopted more of a country western look with the jacket and the hat.

No Terry Gordy or Buddy Roberts. No third man either (except when they briefly brought in Brad Armstrong as the masked Fantasia/Badstreet).

I liked Garvin when he was managed by Sunshine and then Precious, but as a Freebird it didn't work. Freebird was more than a name, it was three guys that, as good as they were as singles wrestlers, were made greater as a group.
As far as I (and many others) are concerned, the ONLY Freebirds were Hayes, Gordy and Buddy. Any other members added were just part of some angle and not official, or were the equivelant of rock groups that reform with only one of the original members (usually the keyboard player) while claiming to be the real thing.

Always thought the Freebirds were overrated.
I preferred the Rock N Roll Express/Midnight Express rivalry.

I've heard Hayes say that when the Freebirds were him, Gordy and Roberts they considered Garvin the fourth Freebird.

Hayes has said that about Garvin who was even briefly in the "Badstreet" video. But, saying you consider someone the fourth member of a wrestling group when on screen they are not presented as such is a BIG difference.
