who else seen these as a kid?
Star Wars Droids, this was suprisngly well done storywise, and unusually for the time, had multi-episode storyarcs, there were only about 12 episodes, but each was in 4 episode arcs eah with new wners for the droids, I'll give my opinion on each seperately
1, the droids are owned by 2 racers who run afowl of a local gangster, this is my personal fav story, it wasn't too kiddy and could be enjoyed by adults, plus the last episode had none other than Boba Fett, who was his usual badass self
2, a young guy who ends up helping an Alien prince regain his throne, its good but not great, it suffers from silly characters (one goofy badguy henchman with a silly hat,the princes aide who is whiney and the guys uncle whos like a old west prospecter )
3 The merchant/smuggler who is looking for his fortune, its once again a solid story..but the 3rd episode lets it down, it ranges from boring to stupid (the comedy droid being the worst character in the whole thing )
all in all very well writtenand the animation isn't that bad, and one of the racers from the first story will apparetly appear in the star wars live action series
as for the Ewoks, when I first saw this I hadn't seen Return of the jedi and didn't know it was star wars related, and to be honest, I loved it, it was the right platform for them, it didn't seem that much different from any other similar cartoon that was about at the time, it was fun and harmless and generally enjoyable
anyone else remember em?

I bought Droids on DVD when it came out a few years back. Was surprisingly watchable. However it was heavily edited and didn`t feature the intro that you have up there as well as sizable chunks of the show.
I really liked Ewoks as a kid and I`ll probably pick up the DVD one day as well when I`m in the mood.
EDIT** I would also point out that I think the art design of Droids is awesome. Really captures the feel of Star Wars. Better than the prequels I`d say.

well in the Droids DVD and yeah they missed out the first story arc with the racers, luckily i have it on tape too, apparently the theme was written by Stewart Copeland of the Police so maybe its a royalties issue
but yeah, they are very watchable still, the thing is..Droids ..well you get the feeling the concept shouldn't have worked as a kids cartoon but did

You left out the Boba Fett Cartoon, Friend. I wonder if on the One Copy in the Lucasfilm Archives, Temuera Morrison has redubbed that cartoon, only so when George has destroyed every last copy, he can destroy the last copy, which is consistent with the rest of the cannon.

Never heard of the Droids cartoon although I watched Ewoks a few times as a little kid. I hadn't seen Star Wars yet and thought Ewoks was a whole other thing on it's own.
