A pretty common staple of 80s sitcoms is the aborted wedding. The lead character is all set to marry their sweetheart, but then at the last minute one of them decides that it was all a huge mistake and leaves the other one standing at the altar.

Pregnant woman goes into labor in a stuck elevator. Pregnant woman goes into labor anywhere she can't leave. Fresh Prince, Vanessa Williams character gets stuck in traffic with Will. Taxi, Alex cab breakdown with the pregnant woman in the backseat. Also, Saved by the Bell did it, with the rarely-seen Mrs. Belding during the Tori year.

How about they go to Disney World. ABC sitcoms did this a bunch all around the same time in the 90s. Step by Step, Full House, and Family Matters.
Never mind the fact that this was only done because I believe that was around the time Disney bought ABC. lol
Another one. If it is a store or something the bigger better new store across the street sets up. The only show I can think of is the Animated Clerks series but this is done in movies quite a bit. Barber Shop 2 and Good Burger.

The Christmas episode where it's almost, maybe time to tell the kids Santa isn't real........except, he is real!!!!
The adults never wonder exactly who was leaving presents they had never purchased under the tree.

In anime, there are lots of episodes involving the beach, a school festival, or Christmas. I can name at least ten of them too~

Stupid-assed flashback show. We're trapped in a blizzard, this reminds me of the time we.... As a variation on that, a couple of people tell the side of their own story while embellishing to make them look the best. Then the "impartial" person shows you what happened as it actually did.

Willy Wonka parodies are only common in animated shows, though. So we could add Fantastic Voyage parodies, too. Futurama and Dexter's Lab both did that off the top of my head, and I wouldn't be surprised to find others. I can name a few. Rugrats, Simpsons, Reboot, The Mask. and that's only a few. Like i said. Practially every cartoon did the shrinking episode plot in some capacity. Not adding much to the topic. But, I would like to state that the Slurm Factory is my favorite episode of Futurama. Great spoof of Willy Wonka (one of my favorite movies). Farnsworth: "Who are those horrible orange creatures over there?" Glurmo: "Why those are the Grunka Lunkas. They work here in the Slurm factory." Farnsworth: "Tell them I hate them!" Grunka Lunk Dunkity Dediant You should not ask about the secret ingrediant!

The body swap between two characters that either have radically different personalities, or just flat-out hate each other.
