So I'm watching the episode of Futurama where they go to the Slurm factory, and it got me thinking the Willy Wonka spoofs are pretty common. Off the top of my head Futurama and Family Guy.
What basic plots have the most TV shows done?

Shrinking episode. name me one cartoon in the 80's or 90's that didn't do it once?

Willy Wonka parodies are only common in animated shows, though. So we could add Fantastic Voyage parodies, too. Futurama and Dexter's Lab both did that off the top of my head, and I wouldn't be surprised to find others.

In sitcoms, when the characters are on the subway or above ground train, it is because they are in a rush to get to where they are going and of course the train stops where no one can get off.
Examples: Boy Meets Word-New Years Eve; Cory, Shawn, Topanga, Eric are stuck on a train while trying to get to a New Years Eve party.
Family Matters-Christmas; Carl is buying last minute gifts with Steve and they get stuck on the L Train.
Full House- Uncle Jesse's Graduation; speaks for itself.

Not adding much to the topic. But, I would like to state that the Slurm Factory is my favorite episode of Futurama. Great spoof of Willy Wonka (one of my favorite movies).

Practially every cartoon did the shrinking episode plot in some capacity. Not adding much to the topic. But, I would like to state that the Slurm Factory is my favorite episode of Futurama. Great spoof of Willy Wonka (one of my favorite movies). Farnsworth: "Who are those horrible orange creatures over there?" Glurmo: "Why those are the Grunka Lunkas. They work here in the Slurm factory." Farnsworth: "Tell them I hate them!"

Frasier was trying to get to a rally celebrating his one thousandth show or something.

I mean specifically the Fantastic Voyage concept, though. (Not having seen several of the shows you mentioned, I don't know if they were the FT thing or just shrunken characters.)

Pregnant woman goes into labor in a stuck elevator. Pregnant woman goes into labor anywhere she can't leave. Fresh Prince, Vanessa Williams character gets stuck in traffic with Will. Taxi, Alex cab breakdown with the pregnant woman in the backseat. Another part of the television pregnant woman plot, is the woman says "My water broke" and whoever is there replies something to the vein of "Oh, don't worry. We got some more water here" and holding up a water bottle.

The ones mentioned were all Fantastic voyage parodies. Some others i believe that did the Fantastic Voyage parodies in some way were Magic School Bus, Sabrina the Teenage Witch (the Live action one, though the cartoon did have a shrinking ep), Family Guy, and i believe Bobby's World made a reference to it once.

If you're talking parodies... Star Wars and Star Trek rank really high. Muppet Babies, Tiny Toons, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Super Mario Bros... everyone's covered one or the other if not both.

I got a date with Janet tonight at six! Oh crap! I forgot! I already made a date with Brooke tonight at 6:30! What will I do? I know! I'll have both dates at the same restaurant with the girls on opposite sides! How can this go wrong?

Neighbor boy is introduced... hits on female daughter... if there's an age difference, he's younger and thus says fairly rude and chauvanistic comments that still result in laughs.

I'll have both dates at the same restaurant with the girls on opposite sides! How can this go wrong? Just to quote the Simpsons: Carla: Sammy, you're too old to go on a date with two twins on the same night you're supposed to marry Diane without Rebecca knowing. Sam: OK, Carla, I'll make you a bet: if this affects my major league comeback, I'll sell my bar.

How bout the "very special episode"? It doesn't happen much anymore but back in the day there was always sitcom writers with delusions of grander that thought they had to make a statement instead of just being funny.
