I won't claim to be the biggest original ECW fan on these boards, but watching some of these matches in preparation for my list I can't help but be incredibly impressed. ECW Van Dam was a thing of beauty.

ECW Van Dam was a thing of beauty. That's because in ECW, Van Dam had to freedom to improvise and do whatever he wanted. In WWE, not so much; but he was still great.

It's like the HDTV debates from a couple years ago. "I'm sure it's nice, but it can't be THAT much better..". Then you actually watch it and it's amazing. Just finished the Heatwave 98 tag. I still have about a half dozen ECW matches to watch, but so far I think 4 of my top 5 are all original ECW.

Another great tag match against The Eliminators from 96. I'm going to have to pick this back up tomorrow. In the mean time, continue sending in the lists. The race for #1 is still up in the air between 5 matches, and one list could change the entire landscape.

You have a little over a day to get your lists in folks. Every list will count on this one. This is the tightest race for #1 we've ever had.

After watching about a dozen matches over the past two nights, I FINALLY have my list done. Here's the breakdown:
-9 matches from the original ECW, 1 from WWE.
-The Whole Effin' Show battles the New Effin' Show 3 different times.
-The Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal one appears 5 different times. Three times as an opponent, and twice as a partner.
-The lone WWE match represents arguably the greatest success of his entire career.
-The other match involves a title win that was never supposed to be. A battle with a beast.
This will be a lot of fun to count down. As it stands now, here is the Top 4. This is still WAY up in the air.

At least in the top five, if not number one. This show was ECW at it's peak, and not one match on the card was bad. I've turned more people onto ECW with this show, than with any of their other PPV's. Please watch if haven't already!

There wasn't a single match on the card that didn't entertain me.

6 WWE matches, 4 orginal ECW matches 7 title matches, 3 for the ECW TV Title, 3 for the Intercontinental title and 1 for the WWE title 4 gimmick matches (not including matches under Extreme Rules) 1 match from 1996, 1 from 1998, 2 from 1999, 1 from 2001, 2 from 2002, 1 from 2003 and 2 from 2006
This will most certainly be an awesome list/countdown.
