You know, this storyline of The Kendrick looking for a new tag partner could have been really good, if the WWE a) pushed tag teams anywhere but under the bus, and b) actually let The Kendrick run with the ball on this one. But, no, they had to crap on it by having Lawler throw a few punches, and do that stupid second rope fist thing for the win. This was almost as bad as the Hornswoggle segment. Are we to believe that WWE announcers can just inject themselves into matches whenever they feel like it? King, if I see you from the waist down, there's a problem. I don't ever want to see your pants...and I really don't want to see your singlet.
And I felt like taking a bat to Cole. "Vintage Lawler!" "He's still got it!"
Check, please.

Kendrick is an annoying wuss heel that thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
It makes perfect sense for a veteran to come into the ring and beat his ass.
That's kinda the whole point of Kendricks Gimmick.

I found it stupid to randomly have Lawler come in and beat Kendrick. Made no sense.

Lawler could probably take TBK in a real fight, so it doesn't bother me he went over in a fake one.

The sad thing is that his original opponents were scheduled to be The Rock, Stone Cold and HBK in a fatal four way for the number one contendership. Ah well. At least Jerry got a win.

Kendrick saying "And now I finish you!" redeemed it somewhat.

Like the match or not, I thought it was pretty cool seeing a near 60 year old man hit a dropkick

And yes, not having heat is a booking issue. But it also doesn't help if the guy you are trying to book doesn't have much of a TV-Friendly personality.Besides, Kendrick is going to get his revenge on Lawler and it might actually get a crowd reaction doing it. But hey, why wait for a nice feud to build. People just need to give it a little time to develop.

Bottom line - Kendrick's a jobber. So he jobbed.
Jobbers are there to lay down for the stars, the established acts... and even the comedy and novelty acts. I'd put folks like Lawler, Hornswoggle and Santino firmly in that category right now. Would anyone complain at Kendrick losing to Santino? Probably not. But I seem him as being in the same category as Lawler right now.

Give Lawler his wrestlemania match and he can stop embarassing himself and tarnishing his reputation doing silly little spots on Raw. As if any credible wrestler would use a second rope punch as a finisher?

As for the "use a credible finisher" nay-sayers....it's called keeping part of kayfabe alive. Kinda like Hogan's legdrop or anything that Flair does. You know it doesn't look that great and it's outdated....but you still mark for it.
