Well, the casino, obviously!
Gotta love those Pokemon morals. "See, kids! It's okay to gamble, especially if you're only 10 years old!"

Of course, the PAL release of Pokemon Platinum removed the slots from it without getting rid of the game corner or the prizes. So you just ponied up a crapload of cash to buy things.

Wait................they kept the place and the prizes, but removed the only way to get said prizes without paying exuberant sums of money? (Money which, IIRC, is extremely tedious to get?)

Some more name suggestions to go with the previous ones I offered:
Grimer = Poo Koffing = Smokey Spinda = Beary or Benzai

Didn't really hurt me since I just do the Elite Four then buy coins from the winnings but it was a bit of a 'huh' kind of thing.

That's not adorable, that's proof that they've given up on creativity.
It's a pig..........and a spring. And it's named Spoink.
That practically defines lazy.

Even among the first 150 Pokemon there were uncreative, lazy additions. I mean, look at Rattata. It's a rat. A purple rat, true... but still just a rat.

At least Rattata was Purple. And Pidgey was probably the first Pokemon you ever saw in the Wild. So you've just got a plant dinosaur, a turtle/squirrel hybrid or a fire lizard and you go into the wilderness to see what the next fantastic creature you find is going to be. It's a bird. Followed by a rat. Prepare for some exciting few hours coming up as some of the crazy unusual creatures you fight include a caterpiller, a cat with a coin on it's head, a pokeball with eyes and a bat...and another bat..... and another bat...... and another bat...... and another bat and a fish...... and another bat.

You forgot a rock with arms being somewhere between a couple of the bats.

You forgot a rock with arms being somewhere between a couple of the bats. I actually can't believe I forgot about the mythical creature called a snake which evolves into... a different kind of snake.

Or how about the second bird? The first generation didn't just give us 1 Pokemon that was just a bird; it saw fit to give us two of them! Both of which evolve into... you guessed it: more birds.
Seriously, much as I love the Pokemon series of games, they've always had some lazy designs and dud Pokemon. But for every lame one, they tend to have a couple of cool ones which make up for it.

I really hope I'm not seeing Fearow hate in here Spearow and Fearow were cool. Pidgey, Pidgeotto and Pidgeot, on the other hand, were lame.

I really hope I'm not seeing Fearow hate in here I don't think we said anything about hate in here, just defending the design choice of a spring pig. Fearow was in my Gold team in fact. Along with a crocodile, a praying mantis, a ghost, a very angry pigape and Cubone. Screw the stats, I fight with my favorites ;D
