We have all had dreams in the past. Well most of us at least. Some of them go away right when you wake up, some linger in your mind for years.
But what do you think they are?

I actually had a dream about that. Basically, I was in another dimension and living life as whoever I was in that dream. And when I was done, I leave it via a door and wait in a lobby, like in a doctor's office, till I'm ready to wake up or to go to a new dimension.

I picked imagination running wild, your mind working problems out and other.
I picked other because sometimes stuff is just left over from things you saw/and heard over the last couple of days and that's really the only reason they show up in your dreams. Then there are the other things that you haven't thought about or anything that are just there, which is your imagination going bazoo. Lastly, I think our brains form dreams based on problems that we try to push aside while we're conscious .

If it's my subconscious trying to tell me things it's over-estimated my intelligence, hardly any of my dreams makes sense, they can't even cope with a coherent location.
So I voted for imagination running wild brotha!

Imagination
Purely because I had a dream last night that involved me having to ride a unicycle down a striaght line that had been draw out in chocolate down a city centre street
Can't see how (and that is just the tip of the iceberg) fits into the other 3 lol

Other
I have absolutely no idea, I see things except myself in them. Odd. Sometimes I swear I tasted something sweet.

Dreams are basically your brains version of Scan Disk and Defrag. I agree with this, with a bit of imaginaton thrown in.

Dreams are basically your brains version of Scan Disk and Defrag. Very good answer. Dreams are basically our desires and fears.

There's real thoughts, real feelings in there, but they're bullcrap. You are essentially asleep at the wheel. It all just leaks out into some garbled mess that ALMOST means something imo.

So should I tell you about then dream I had about you, the donkey, and the hot tub full of chocolate pudding?

I think they're a cross of imagination and your mind sorting problems out.
I had a dream my Mum had another baby, so I would have a younger brother. I hadn't been thinking about it lately, but I've always wanted a younger brother/sister as I'm the youngest out of two and it sucks.
I do find I have bad dreams that I wake up pretty freaked out from and they're usually things I've been worried about or scared of.
