As I sat playing Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA) on my Wii earlier, the thought crossed my mind.
I always figured I was being cheap by using Princess/Peach, but the older I got, the more I realized that other people used this same tactic to beat the game.
So I ask the Wrestlecrap Universe...anybody here actually beat the game with somebody like Toad or Mario? Luigi was kinda a lesser Peach so I get that, but even still.

I've always used Toad. I like the fact that he picks up things quickly and I'm good enough with the jumping not to need the floating.
I've beaten the game with Toad a couple of times.

I never cared for Luigi in SMB2 myself. Yeah, he could jump high but his landing was always too awkward, especially in the ice world. Ive beaten SMB2 with Mario before though.

I used Toad the most, just cuz it was more fun. Mario would come in second, then Princess at third, as there were some areas it didn't make any sense not to use her. Luigi was a sadly distant fourth.

Luigi was my best. Peach was second. The reason Peach is second instead of first is cause...well cause I never could get her floating down well enough.

It depends on the level. If It needed a lot of digging, then Toad, a lot of jumps, then Luigi, and a lot of jumping from object to narrow object, Peach. But for the regular stages, Mario's average power usually worked out the best.

I actually beat the whole game with just Luigi. If you're as bad at timing jumps as I am, you need all the height you can get.

I would normally use the Princess for Worlds 3-1, and 4-3, but that's it.
I loved her floating ability but she wasn't very fast and strong. I mostly used Mario and Luigi.
I liked using Toad my only problem with him was that he couldn't jump that high.

Toad is the man. So he's my choice.

First time I beat the game and it showed how many times I used a particular guy Toad had a fat 0 above him, I felt bad and made it a point to use everyone at least once.

I used everybody at least once to flip that game. By that I mean I played that game so much when I was 10, that I had occasion to use just toad, just princess, just Lugigi or just Mario to flip the game

Luigi adds a bit of difficulty, actually, that's why I liked using him.

It depended on the level for me. Princess was the best for certain levels, but if you needed to do a lot of digging it was better to use Toad or Mario. Luigi was probably the least useful, but he could jump the highest and that came in handy on occassion.

As a younger kid I used Peach, but when I got older and got the game on GBA I used Luigi almost exclusively. I LOVED how in Super Mario Advance 2 (Super Mario World) they had SMB2 floaty jump Luigi. SOOOO awesome.

I used Toad for everything but the ice levels. There I used either Peach or Luigi. Those were the levels that I had trouble on.
