As fans of WWE do you remember the days when you didn't use the internet to find out spoilers and find out whats happening behind the scenes. For those of you who are now Smarks but used to be Marks would you rather go back to the days when you didn't have a clue as to what was going to happen in the show or would you rather know all about the backstage politics of Hulk Hogan and co.

To be honest,I do miss the days before I got this computer.
Although to be fair, nobody shoved all the damn newz and rants sites down my throat,so it's kinda my fault.
But I miss the days at times, amkes everything look better.
But I enjoy being here, and discussing stuff,so in a way,I love it here.
In a way.

I have to say not really
Cause when I watch RAW or Smackdown I tend not to think about the politics and so forth and just concentrate on what I see on my screen
Plus it's less confusing now when a wrestler suddenly dissappears with no on screen explanation given

It isn't smarks vs marks.
It is smarks vs. promoters who aren't in the 21st century.
The marks vs. smarks is a illusion made by those promoters.

I just hate the spoilers, that's my main problem, and hearing all the people who will likely show up. I completely stopped going on internet headline websites, and get my news through here, and the livejournal wwe community.
What I hate though, is people who put a spoiler within the title of their message, and then have spoiler at the end of it. I don't mean to offend anybody, but someone actually put, Spoiler: Smackdown draft pick(or something like that), then put, what will become of Tomko. Gee, thanks for warning me it's a spoiler genious, I wonder who got drafted. Stuff like that annoys me. I find it interesting to hear about what's going on backstage, even about their politics. I never knew Shawn Michaels was such an asshole backstage before I got the internet, but when I found out, he still was one of my favourite wrestlers of all time, and still is.
Even with Triple H, I hate his backstage politicing and the fact that for awhile, the World Heavyweight Title was pretty much known as the Triple H Championship. But I respect his passion for the buisness, and he seems like the kind of guy who eats, sleeps and breathes wrestling. He'd probably be a great choice to help take over the WWE when Vince retires, if it wasn't for the fact that he doesn't seem to want to push smaller guys.
But yeah, it's the spoilers that take away from a lot of the excitement of wrestling. Because the best thing about wrestling is surprise. If something unexpected were to happen on a wrestling show, man that would be a great moment. Like, when Shawn Michaels came back in 2002, I never saw it coming, and I was in complete shock, and it was such an amazing moment. So the internet does take away a huge aspect of wrestling, as it's hard to surprise people anymore. But then again, I guess that makes it even more special when a suprise happens.

Yeah I do miss those days. If I could go back I don't know if I would though. I mean back then sure, it was nice to know surprises, like hosses (no one's telling me not to like 'em I just don't like the majority of hosses anymore), and basically just be mindless going in. But, now I don't have that advantage, but as a mark I probably wouldn't have gotten into ROH, wouldn't be able to appreciate truly great wrestling, and the like. I'm 50/50 with this issue.

Being a mark was better. But I'm just too curious. I can't help it, I must read spoilers and find out about what's really happening backstage

I'm addicted to internet newz sites that give me misinformed rumors and spoilers. You know the ones that clearly have spent more time working on the diva galleries.
But I don't know what I'd rather be....
On one hand, being able to know and predict what's gonna happen is kinda cool because it makes me look smarter to my friends who don't follow the internet stuff.
But it makes me look like a bigger nerd for successfully predicting fixed matches.
So, now as I think about this debate in the middle of my post, I realized I miss being a mark more. But I'm still going to those newz sites to see if they updated the Dawn Marie gallery. It's not like where gonna get anymore good pics of her anymore.

I think we all miss the days when we would just watch the show and not complain about a guys workrate or who is playing politics. But like someone already said, nobdy forced us to learn all the things we did, it's human nature.

As a mark, I didn't watch wrestling. AT ALL. It wasn't until I went on the 'net and actually checked out the news sites and everything that I started caring.
So, no.
