I personally get scared by some things (I can't watch horror movies, can't really play horror games, etc.) but overall, other things (heights, dark), I can handle.
However, for some reason, this sound had me on edge when I was younger.
And I never got over it. What are stupid things that freak you out?

Driving over bridges. Only during the day though, if it's night and I can't see the water I'm OK.

Katydids. I know they're harmless and can't hurt you but I'm terrified of them. If there is one on the outside of my door,I won't go outside until it's gone. If I have to be somewhere,I'll crack the door barely open and take a broom handle and try to get it to fly away. I'm the same way with praying mantises but I don't see them as much.

It doesn't really scare me as in "I start shaking and sweating," but I always feel kinda nervous when crossing those portals in stores that beep when someone walks with something they didn't pay for, because I'm always afraid it would start ringing for no reason. That fear got strengthened twice. Then again, it's really silly since I never stole anything, and these two occurrences showed me that I can easily prove I did buy my stuff so really, nothing bad can happen but, you never know.
Apparently, I'm not alone for that, though.
Also, in The Twelve Tasks of Asterix, there's a scene in which Asterix and Obelix must walk through a cave. The whole scene (if not the entire movie) is a complete mindf***, but what truly freaked me out was at some point, ghost faces appear, and the last one is really scary, not to mention it stops while Asterix is talking to it, then it makes a horrifying face (not to mention it already looks like it's decomposing or something), then sort of... melts. Oh and it's staring at the audience the whole time.

Apparently, I'm not alone for that, though. I used to work in a department of a store that had them. They went off all the freakin' time. It was never anyone stealing anything. Wallets, purses, some shoes set them off. Condoms also set them off. The bell would go and the guy would come back "I was just browsing." "Ok. Um, do you have anything from the phramacy?" "No....." (quietly)(motions at condoms in his basket) "That's what it is. I'll take care of it." No huge fears that are irrational. I don't like heights. I'm ok if I'm on a stable surface, but if it moves...look out.

I mean, that's pretty much just a piece of rubber! What can be in it that would set an alarm off?

Most bees and spiders can't and won't kill you though. But I understand people fearing them.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but is there a backstory towards any of you guys phobias? I mean some of them make me wonder how one comes to fear this.
