My ex wife has informed me that her disability case with SSI has been decided in her favor. The details are enough to make my head explode. She'll be getting a lump sum settlement that goes back to February of 07 in the amount of $30,000, in addition to her monthly benefits of $1188. Why? Because a scumbag lawyer convinced a judge that because she's batcrap crazy, and hasn't been able to work for the past two years, that she's disabled. And yet, at the same time, she'll tell you all day that she's okay to spend time with our son, even though anyone can tell you that parenting is a whole lot tougher than holding a job. The woman has no shame. She's been sponging off her Hugh Hefner grandfiancee (he's old enough to be her grandfather) for the past two years, and now she gets an extra $1200 a month from the government to do that exact same thing. Now, sure, I could claim that since the settlement covers a period of time during which we were married, then that portion is a marital asset, and I'd be entitled to half, but unless she agrees and cuts me a check on the spot, the money would go to the lawyers for trying to prove my point to the court, and that's not helping anyone...except more lawyers. At least now she'll catch up her child support and pay it on time. Makes me want to find the nearest law office and take a tire iron to their knees.
