Don't get me wrong. Kickass movie. Just a fair amount of historical inaccuracies...and yet, it's on the History Channel right now.
Why, Johnny Ringo...you look like someone just walked over your grave.

It's like a Real Vs Reel type of show isn't it? They show a Historical movie but give it a little real life context or something.

I'm thinking is another case in the recent rash of non-movie playing networks running out of content and playing movies, ie MTV and Travel Channel.

I've been noticing the History Channel has been playing some random s*** lately. There was one show they were gonna start airing (don't remember what) and I was just baffled how that belonged on the History Channel

So, the 8000 specials on Nostradamus and Bible Codes didn't tip you off that they might be a bit less historical these days?

...didn't they start showing CSI: NY on the History Channel last year/two years ago? I mean, you might be able to argue it, but it'd be one hell of a challenge to convince me that it's Historical in any way, shape, or form...

The fact that they have shows about SPACE, ie, the kind of things that belong on the Science Channel, shows that they aren't 100% History. Hell in terms of history, they RARELY stray away from World War II, Civil War, or Ancient Europe.

[snip] Hell in terms of history, they RARELY stray away from World War II. ...so they're the FPS genre? <.< Hm? Hmm? Funny, yeah? Right? ...I'm sorry, I'll shut up now. v_v

All the niche channels have slowly abandoned their identites in favor of the same generic movie line-up.
Remember when Bravo was a legit arthouse channel? Now its a gutter for Lethal Weapon 4 and whatever crap poops through the NBC toilet.
Turner Classic Movies has stayed legit at least. So far. WIN

But isn't Turner Classic Movies the channel that colorizes old movies?
I've been complaining about the History Channel for years. Its sad that they've become nothing more then a place to hawk fairly inaccurate history movies. They've had shows of laughable quality on King Arthur (The Clive Owen Movie) Troy, Alexander, Operation Valkyrie and the list goes on.
I remember when they would do Reel vs Real and it would involve professors nitpicking movies. Now it seems if you advertise with them they'll do a special for you and ignore everything.
Also, I think they are the channel with Ice Road Truckers and American Loggers, cause those two groups scream Historic importance.
I think the problem with a lot of the Niche channels is that they are owned by Viacom, and nearly all of them are turning into the exact same channel because they'd rather get a halfway decent rating then attract the niche audience.

But isn't Turner Classic Movies the channel that colorizes old movies? Turner hasn't done that nonsense since the 80s after everyone complained. And after they lost money. Give TCM a viewing sometime.

To defend Axemen and Ice Road Truckers, without the men doing the jobs the truckers do, no one would be able to survive up that north. As for Axemen, well several areas in America were founded because of the logging industry, so it is interesting to see that kind of work.

Let's face it...it's Tombstone. They could play it on Logo because of Priestley's character being in it, and I'd watch.
