As a upstater, I've always wondered why the WWE always had to go to the OnCenter, and could never have a PPV at the Dome. Now I know. Now it's just a matter of seeing if 33,000 plus (adding in floor seat capacity) can actually show up for a show.

I doubt WWE would go there for something like Backlash but could see them doing Summerslam or Survivor Series from there next year.

It would have worked during the attitude era but it might be too late now. When was the last non-mania dome show? 33,000 is only the half-dome capacity for basketball (without floor seats).

Why were they banned?

Mentions in the article it's about them not thinking it's educational. Which I guess means you can learn things from basketball besides how to count by twos and be an overpaid egomaniac.

They announced this at the house show in Verona. Hopefully this will lead to them taping an episode of RAW/Smackdown there at some point. I would love to see a PPV come to the Dome, but that might be wishful thinking.

The bad thing is that it's a little too big to host a normal show or PPV, but a bit too small to host wrestlemania.
I guess they could have a Raw there or something and just tape off a bunch of the upper seats then not have the camera show that high.

Maybe not Wrestlemania, but it could probably host SummerSlam or one of the B PPVs.

The attendance for wrestlemanias are regularly mentioned on here but I have no idea on the others.

The last couple of SummerSlams have had around 15-20 thousand. They have done a few WrestleManias in smaller venues, so it wouldn't be out of the question (30,000 is still a pretty big crowd). However, Syracuse isn't exactly a glamorous, big market city.
