The best moment of the match was the HUGE c***tease that is Jeff touching the belt.
Amazing how many years later, he'll be a 3 time champ.

Was always a huge Taker mark, and yet this match made me praying Jeff won. Remember being so pissed when he lost - still a damn good match.
Funny thing is, up until this, I never really liked the Hardys. They were okay, but I was much more an Edge and Christian guy.

It's amazing to think how f***ed up Hardy was at this time, and still able to pull a match like this off.

I must say that I never liked the Hardys before (being more an Edge and Christian guy too) but I was rooting for Jeff Hardy and really thought he was gonna win. But I can't believe he won the title years after, I thought he was done.

Yeah, this match seriously turns me into a ten year old mark, and I don't mean that with any negativity at all. I love any match that is able to take me back to that place of immersion in the product.
You just can't force or even craft the connection Jeff Hardy is able to to have with the fans.

One of my favorite matches in Raw history. The TNN days were actually pretty sweet looking back, though I was losing interest at the time.

Such a fantastic match. This match has everything that I think wrestling is capable of. Even knowing it's a worked sport, it really captured me like a big time sporting championship and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. There is absolutely no way I would have wanted Jeff to win going in, but by the end I was rooting for him.

This match is THE example of how to get someone over without them winning.
'Taker was on fire around this time frame with matches like this one and his mini feud with Angle.

that was a perfect match. they captured magic with that match. they could do it 1000 more times and never recapture the magic of that match it was just so perfect you actually believed and dared to hope that Jeff could actually do it... it was amazing. its my favourite match

This match was great. I remember rooting for Jeff like crazy, and being pissed he lost. I loved how, after the match, Jeff wouldn't stay down, and Taker came in and gave him that bit of respect. A great moment following a great match.

I'm sure I'll have a lot of people disagreeing with me, but I'd call this match JR's best work ever. Like half the stuff he says here is some of the most memorable announcing in history.

When they announced this, I thought "Undertaker in a ladder match? This is going to suck!!"
...how very wrong I was.

JR did a perfect job calling this match and giving the viewer an emotional attachment to the match. You didn't have to like Jeff Hardy, but halfway through the match, you damn sure were rooting for him to win.

This is a good match, but became a classic from great storytelling.
