Seriously, click the back button if you don't want to know. : From PW Insider: As noted in last night's spoilers sent in by James King Jeff Hardy was "run out" of World Wrestling Entertainment by World champion CM Punk in a Steel Cage match that will headline Friday's Smackdown.
In his only comment after finishing his WWE tenure, Hardy told twitter followers, "Made it!"
Backstage, Hardy was told by WWE management that he had an open door to come back whenever he wanted and that if the company could help promote any of his outside projects, they'd be happy to plug him into their synergy. Hardy is planning to do musical performances with his band, Peroxwhy?gen, and also work on a potential reality series.
Hardy told the company he wasn't leaving because he was unhappy, but that he wanted time off of the road and to do things at his own pace.
The feeling among everyone was that it was a matter of when, not if, Hardy would be back in the fold. A lot of wrestlers were comparing his exit to Chris Jericho's several years ago. Jericho went off to work on several acting and musical projects before making his return to the company, ending up in a much more prominent position because of it.
There was a lot of praise on Hardy's last several months as it was felt his work helped bring CM Punk up to a new level where Punk would be seen as a legitimate force going into his next feud against the Undertaker, which is going to be designed to cement Punk's place on the Smackdown side. In a lot of ways, Hardy helped Punk evolve into the most compelling character and the top heel in the company. Sounds like he left on good terms and isn't planning to jump to TNA anytime soon. Maybe on Friday after the show we can put up a poll taking bets on when he'll be back.

NEWZ!
....oh wait...
Seriously though, glad he's out on good terms and I hope he's back for the Rumble or Mania. Won't be the same without Edge AND Hardy gone. Not at all.

Nice to hear.
The guy was over as hell, was having great matches on a weekly basis and in the last few months had finally solved his problem of being weak on the mic.The last few promos he cut were very good.
It is a huge loss but fair play to him.

Storyline closure? In the WWE? Next thing I know, cats and dogs are gonna start living together.

It's not often when someone leaves WWE without being fired, dying or medically retired, so this is a refreshing change. Whatever he decides to do in the future, my best wishes go out to Jeff.

I'm going to miss him, but I'm happy for him taking a break to do what he wants to do.
It sucks now that my two favorite wrestlers (Jeff and Edge) are gone.

I would mark more than i've ever marked before if he was number 30 in the Royal Rumble.

You have to weirdly respect the guy leaving at the absolute peak of his popularity. He's rivaling Cena at this point. Then again I'm sure he could use it, his body's got to be banged up as all hell.

I just hope we don't have another "Save us" return like Jericho and he never saved us from anything.

Hope he isn't expecting much success out of the band.... His band can be very successful if they somehow work out an arrangement with the corporate overlords of Disney. Let's face it. Nobody will ever confuse the Jonas Brothers with Led Zeppelin.

I'm not gonna blame the guy, to be honest. It was said that Jim Henson wanted to end the Muppet Show at the height of it's popularity, so that the act didn't get too stale, and sure enough the series ended after five seasons with it's highest ratings being the final year.
I see Jeff at the moment as something like that. Jeff is at the peak of his career, and has practically been such since a few months after his WWE return. Why ruin that? There's a VERY small chance that if Jeff is champion for too much it could ruin him like it did Cena in 2005, and if he's in the main event for too much, that might kill some interest on his part.
It's best to move on while you're at the top than to stay on top for too long and turn stale. So best of luck on whatever you feel like doing, Jeff, we'll be waiting for your return.

At least he's leaving the company in a better way than he did in 03.

It'll be interesting to see how he feels after a couple of months.
Chris Jericho started a new trend in the business that if you're cemented as a star in the company, and life on the road is grinding you down it's possible to leave on your own terms and come back when you feel better. But of those who have done it (Lita, Trish Stratus, RVD being others), Jericho is the only one to have come back full time. The others found that with having financial security they ended up enjoying life more without all the strains and stresses of being in wrestling full time. The difference with Jeff is that despite his outside interests wrestling is the one thing that has been constant in his life. This is someone who had his first match as a jobber in WWF when he was 16. Plus with his brother still being with the company, there would be another incentive to come back.
So we'll see, but I wish him all the best regardless.
