Can I just say that I'm loving this feud?
Anyway, what I really like is that it's really rehabilitating Goldust's credibility as a wrestler, in the kayfabe sense. When he came, skits with Hornswoggle and the like were considered apropos of him but this feud has allowed him to be taken serious as a strong, big man who can still go toe to toe with rising stars. It's much better than being an opening match jobber for the newcomers, and it helps both him and Sheamus out tremendously.
Together, the two work a great striking-based match. Anything that doesn't come under the banner of "technical wrestling" often gets a poor rep here (and elsewhere on the ol' WWW) so I'm glad to see it being used correctly here.
So hooray for Goldust and Sheamus. I'd be delighted if they got an undercard match on a PPV to finish this off. It'll never happen, but a man can dream.

It's serving it's purpose and helping Sheamus a lot working with an experienced guy, I'm for it

Love it. I was shocked that Goldust actually beat him, but didn't mind one bit.

I gotta admit they have dragged this on a little while longer than I thought they would but it is definately giving Sheamus a nice little rub and Goldust seems to be getting a decent reaction from the crowd too.
I can never tell whether the noise is sweetened though.

I can never tell whether the noise is sweetened though. I'm not sure it is on ECW (if it is, they're sly about it), it was certainly was on Superstars. They wouldn't have given Austin the reaction they gave Goldust there.

Sheamus can learn some basics from working with Goldust, and get a few extended matches under his belt. I see some big things for Sheamus.

I think the main reason it's working so well is beacuse they are following Keep It Simple Stoopid. The feud is no deeper than two guys who can't stand eachother and want to hurt one another. No titles, no extra frills, just basic booking in it's purest form. And it works last night's double count out was proof of that. These two would rather throw a match just to be able to inflict more damage on eachother.
It's also doing nothing but good for both guys. Goldust is looking better than he has since returning, and Sheamus is proving he can hang with an established veteran.

Now that we know he can go in the ring, he needs some character development, as do the rest of the NTI guys. I'm shocked they actually put effort into the Sheamus/Goldust program. It's giving both a chance to really shine.

They're quietly doing really well. Like you say, it's getting little attention but Sheamus is improving and Dustin is really getting to show his value as a worker still. It's good stuff. Sheamus still looks like Hans Klopek from The 'Burbs though

I also love that they're playing up the idea that there are mindgames on both sides, with them not only looking for physical weakspots, but trying to get under each other's skin. Also, Striker playing up that neither will fall for the other's same tricks twice. Also, Goldust has the robe back, yay! He looks weird with just the wig.

Speaking of Goldust who else really likes his new suit. It looks so different from the older ones he wore being almost all black instead of almost all gold.
Hopefully they keep pushing Goldust a bit here and build him a little so he can do a feud with Cody and help get him over.

I love the idea that ECW has almost as many, if not more feuds going than RAW does.
ECW: Christian v Regal/Kozlov/Jackson Goldust v Sheamus Benjamin v Ryder Hurricane v Burchill
RAW: Cena v Orton DX v Legacy Chavo v Hornswoggle Kofi v Miz JeriShow v Half Strong, Half Amazing (My entry into the "Name the MVP/Henry team" competition)

I also like that sometimes he'll get pissed and unzip the suit some in a "You want a piece of me?" kind of gesture.

I'm diggin this fued something fierce. I know, right? That being said, if this eventually evolved into a mutual respect tag team, that'd be pretty awesome, too.
