Not enough options on the poll. I mean, I want to vote YES, but only because it makes the five-minute WRESTLING matches seem that much more entertaining.
What?

As talked about by other people, Austin could be used for putting other people over.
Steve Austin's career is over. What Austin needs to do is maybe get into a good angle with a built up guy, then put them over. Because if you go over Steve Austin, you're a superstar.
The best example I can think of honestly is Christian. Christian became a huge singles star because of his interactions with Steve Austin. Kane is another example. If Steve Austin didn't light a fire under Kane's ass, he wouldn't have lost the match, and would have never became the monster he did. I mean, Steve Austin revived Kane's career after Triple H buired him so far underground, he was in the land of the moleman, and then Steve Austin pulled him out. Chris Jericho, who I believe was 2003's Raw MVP, and that was definitely helped by Steve Austin.
I know this was inducted into Wrestlecrap, but yes, he was even trying to put over Lance Storm with the boring gimmick. It wasn't because he was boring in the ring, it was because of his personality. I mean, he got the crowd to chant boring, that would be like hey crowd, chant Sideshow Bob at Carlito.
I've talked about how CM Punk could really benefit from a feud with Steve Austin(if he's allowed to use his gimmick), as they would be the exact opposities.

Nope, not even a little bit. I understand and respect his contribution to the business but his shtick, imo, is tired and the same ol' thing he's been doing for years. If he could still wrestle without injuring himself then I'd be all for him sticking around, but that isn't the case. The fact of the matter is, he ain't going nowhere regardless if I like it or not. Him being the "Hogan" of the newer generation so to speak, he'll keep trotting his beer-drankin, stunner-deliverin ass to the ring so long as people chant "what." I don't see his appeal going away anytime soon either. Change "beer drinkin, stunner delivering" to nepotizing, Pedigree giving, and you'd sum up HHH as well, Lucky. And you damn well know it.

Ok I was and still am A HUGE Steve Austin fan, I will always because that guy IMO was one of the few grapplers who helped save the WWF/WWE from collapsing and now as history tells us WCW and ECW wouldn't be around either, so a mainstream wrestling promotion wouldn't exist to that extent EVER!
I remember being 10 or 11 going with my dad to see him wrestle in like 98' or 99' and got his autograph that night... He was so great in his prime (my favorite wrestler at the time, next to Owen Hart) and although I would have liked to see SCSA return to wrestling, I no longer want to because he is an old, injury prone wreslter...It is sad to see...He realizes that, has said because of that he lost his interest and the love that he had for the business....
I don't think he will return to wrestling even for the Hogan-Austin match because he said he doesn't want to end up like Hogan and be a shell of a former self (although Hogan was never in the same ballpark as Austin) and become a nostolgia trip...
So, my answer is no...

As much as I like SCSA, he's in a non wrestling role so it's not fun unless I see him in matches so it doesn't matter if he comes back or not.

Triple H still wrestles. Triple H still does what he can to benefit the sport. (I know, I know, he's worthless cause Booker T ain't champ) He busts his ass day in, day out to be the best.. and Steve Austin just comes when he needs a paycheck. Well frankly, it's about time that he takes his tired old ass and goes and tries to get a movie roll or a tv show... because I'm sick of his good for nothing appearances. He doesn't do a God damn thing but put himself over as a bad ass, which he clearly is NOT.

I didn't watch wrestling a whole lot before 2000. I dipped in & out and was vaguely aware of some characters & such forth, but not overly so. When Austin was set to return at Unforgiven 2000 I was intrigued to see what all the fuss was about; 5 years later, I'm still wondering. The man has never done a damn thing to entertain me. I was so happy when he fell out with WWE in 2002, but then he came back less than a year later & bored the crap out of me again. Boring matches, boring promos, boring character!

When I first got back into wrestling, I loved everything BUT the main event: I didn't like Trips, I didn't like Austin, I didn't like Rock. Rock grew on me but the other two never did. Stone Cold fulfills no real purpose in this "occasional guest Stunning everyone" role, and his stint against Bisch was even more boring and tedious. So would I want him back again? I think not.
Still, the Decrepit Hasbeens match at WM22 should be perversley entertaining if just for the "how few bumps can these men take?" aspect of it.

His act is old. You can tell he doesn't really give a rats ass anymore. To me, he's just like Hogan. Making special appearances for a payday.
I actually HATE seeing him back. His "performance" at Homecoming was the worst I have ever seen him. I was embarassed to see it.

His act is old and stale.
The "Stunning-Everyone-And-Drinking-Beer" thing is boring.
I can't understand why people still mark out for that.

I've never understood what was (and still is) the fuss about Austin: trash talking, middle fingers, stunner, beer. Hmmm, so what? Maybe it made sense nearly a decade ago, now it's cheap pop, fast cash (for Austin) nostalgia trip. And it's not even "good" nostalgia... just plain boring.
Homecoming's TWENTY minutes segment was the worst waste of airtime I've ever witnessed. I'd rather have one of the infamous Triple H's promos, or a Hogan interview, maybe even a Hogan match then another useless Stone Cold stunning session. And that's saying SOMETHING!!!
What was the purpose of that stunningfest again?

Loki, I'm almost 100% sure it was longer than 20 minutes man. I don't know the exact time.. but I think it was atleast 30-40 minutes from the time Vince's music hit.

I started to count from Austin's music. Vince's promo lasted 5 minutes only. The total lenght'd be around the 25 minutes mark. Of course it seemed like 40-50. Time flies when you're having fun!

You cannot underestimate the effect Austin's character had on the industry. The swearing and beer drinking were a welcome shot of reality.
That being said, Austin has not been the same since he took that piledriver from Owen Hart. His promos haven't had the same pop, and he certainly hasn't been able to get it done in the ring nearly as well. He's still a good storyteller when he wrestles, but when your moveset consists of punch, kick, Thesz Press, and Stunner, you aren't going to have a lot to work with.
Also, he shouldn't be stunning women considering his recent past.
It's very difficult to pull off a "rebel" character if you don't have any fire left. I believe that his big runs against the Hart Foundation and Vince McMahon were fueled by his hatred of Eric Bischoff and his desire to prove something. He doesn't have that fire anymore, and he needs to retire permenently. There is nothing sadder than seeing a once great wrestler go through the motions and become a parody of themselves.
It's a different situation than with someone like Flair or even Hogan. Those two clearly love the business and their characters don't depend on having something to work against. And, in the case of Flair, he can still get it done in the ring. (Hogan never had great matches, but his charisma was able to keep him over.)
I don't hate Austin, and he was one of my all-time favorites, but he needs to not set foot in a ring again.

I'd sincerely like to argue your point, but looking at your sig photo while I type this is driving me to tear out my eyes, and I have more important things to do with my imminent searing eye-hole pain than talk about a guy who hasn't wrestled in several years.
