the UK Sun has comments from Randy Orton, discussing the release of Eugene. You can check those out here. Here are some highlights…
"Nick is a good friend of mine. I pulled some strings to get his job back and he comes back all overweight. So all in all, I am a little upset with him right now."
He was pretty out of shape, but I've seen far worse, and he looked ok in that little match with Miz, sad that's all we got too see from him.-

I really don't blame Randy for being a little miffed. Eugene looked, well, Walker-ish. At least from the pic I saw.

Orton hates everyone but the horses in his shed.
They council him. They understand.

So was Nick Dinsmore released, or the Eugene character? I was under the assumption that the release was a way of debuting Dinsmore under a new gimmick.

I thought Eugene was just brought back as an excuse to repackage the Miz (which they wouldn't have needed to do, if Cena/Miz had been pulled off in such a way that wasn't a burial).

this is just the thing to turn wwe around Randy Orton with backstage pull *sarcasm*
also I think Dinsmore was fired completely not just a write off of the Eugene character. Whenever WWE releases a talent they post the announcement for that person's character so there is no confusion among fans.

More or less, that's what I thought they brought Eugene back for. Enhancement talent, and as a good hand to work with the younger wrestlers. Plus, wasn't the reason why he ended up getting packaged as Eugene to begin with because of his looks? I remember hearing he was one of the most talented people in developmental but didn't have 'the look'.

So what did they fire him for? Was it not for being in shape?
If so, maybe they need to have a new policy where they physically look at the person right BEFORE signing them. This seems to be a recurring issue. =P

Randy's morale was low, so they viewed his relationships and hired a few people under the "friendships" tag.
And they said EWR was unrealistic.

Fair play to Orton for getting a couple of guys their jobs back doing something they love for the biggest company in their industry.
Isn't that a nice thing to do? Or will people hate on that regardless?

Does Orton really have that much sway backstage now? According to the dirt sheets he seems to have a great influence in hiring/firing people.
