So, what's the deal with Gail Kim these days? She seems quite a bit off in her last few appearances. Far from the awesome that was Kim in TNA. Last night was just a whole bunch of awkward in the battle royal. Is it the quality (or lack there of) of the Divas compared to the Knockouts?

I blame the economy.
Seriously though, I don't know.
The schedule of WWE is more harrowing I guess.

Maybe her wrestling on Live TV as opposed to taped where you can edit a bad botch or change a camera angle for the broadcast has something to do with it.

Well from the intro she got last night, they might be down on her. She gets to walk out with k2 while everyone else, even Rosa got her own intro by herself

I've been wondering the same thing. I was trying to figure out if it was the competition she was working with (Mickie, who has seemed sloppy since her hallowed feud with Trish years back) or if it was the fact that perhaps Kim herself was off and didn't have the good fortune of taped and editable footage. Either way, it's been sort of disappointing... and don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for her abilities and the amount of work/time it takes for these superstars to stay in shape and be on the road.
Whenever I start to frown at someone's wrestling performance, I just think of THAT MATCH from RAW years back, involving a certain Jackie Gayda. Then it doesn't seem so bad anymore.

Perhaps she's still getting used to 4-sided rings, that may have something to do with how awkward she's looked lately. Which makes me wonder, did they send her through FCW after they signed her? Might have helped.

It just seemed that she didn't have the chemistry working with Mickie James or Jillian Hall that she did when she was working with Awesome Kong. Wrestlers can be as great as they are, but if there's no chemistry, there's always going to seem to be something off.

Might have helped. You bring up a good point.... are their any interviews out there with wrestlers talking seriously about the difference between a 4 and 6 sided ring? Is it not a big deal? Or does it actually take a while to adjust?

She gets to walk out with k2 while everyone else, even Rosa got her own intro by herself but then on the other hand she ends up being the last one eliminated. though i suppose that was all worked out before the botch with Jillian. doesn;t explain the lack of an enterance though unless they're still up in the air as to which way to go with her.

Yeah, I think the lack of Awesome Kong has something to do with it. I know I can dream, but I would like to see the 'E hire "Divas" based on their ring presence and technical ability rather than their measurements and face (but then again, Jillian Hall). I find someone like Kong infinitely more interesting to watch wrestle than Rosa Mendes, who I think is attractive, but who isn't "there" yet in terms of wrestling.
BBBbbbbbbbbbbbuuutttttt then again, I am thinking this in relation to a company that had the chairman make a girl bark like a dog on all fours, amongst other things.

I'll tell you what it is. Nobody they have seem to be able to work that high-paced style with her. The WWE Divas aren't used to that and it shows. In TNA, she could work this style and have some damn quality matches. Her current style just doesn't mesh well with the WWE style.

I don't know if this is true or not but is the WWE ring bigger than the TNA ring? I swear it looks bigger across and the ropes look like they are taller in WWE. I swear the top rope practically comes up to the back of their head in WWE. This maybe to accomidate the fact WWE has so many "Hosses" so the ring needs to be bigger. While TNA has a smaller ring to make there smaller guys look big and thier "Hosses" look huge. Maybe that has to do with it like others have said the different ring is throwing it off.

Maybe she's just not that good. Better than half of the Divas roster, but still not that good.

You guys are talking like she never stepped foot in a four-sided or WWE ring before her latest WWE run.
Something just seems off about her lately. I don't remember her first WWE run being this sloppy.

I think people need to stop making excuses for her, it's nothing to do with 'chemistry' when you botch as badly as she does like against Mickie James a couple of weeks back.
Bad chemistry is Orton vs HHH in the main event of Mania 25. Sloppy performance is current Gail Kim.

Her entrance was botched - she was meant to come out last, but she must have thought they were all coming out together, or the faces together and the heels together.

I actually thought Hall was the more off of the two myself, but yeah, when these one time instances keep popping up and they all seem to involve Gail, you have to wonder.

The quality of talent in WWE is horrible. Lets see, Beth was the only one with a shred of talent last night, and they didnt interact at all.
Mickie has been so out of shape, sluggish, and sloppy, that match was as much on her.
In TNA she was able to work with girls like Kong, Roxxie, Love, ext. Actual wrestlers, not models playing wrestlers.

You guys are talking like she never stepped foot in a four-sided or WWE ring before her latest WWE run. Something just seems off about her lately. I don't remember her first WWE run being this sloppy. She was really off early in her run. She got much better as she went on, but unfortunately the label stuck. It kind of sucks because I do like her and I certainly don't believe that she deserves the "botch machine" label (especially on a show that features Rosa and Kelly Kelly). But something isn't clicking here, and its really disheartening to see Gail's second run with the company going the same way her first run did. She's way too good for that, but with noticeable mistakes in her last two matches its really not helping her cause. She could definitely be rehabbed, but that would take more effort that they seem to be willing to put into the Divas. This schizophrenic, ADD booking is just ridiculous. First they have Gail teasing a heel turn but then they decide to do nothing with it and hotshot the title match on free tv. Then they have Alicia Fox pinning the champ clean, but they throw that angle away by having her eliminated early in the battle royal. Then they spend an entire match building Beth Phoenix up as a dominant monster heel, only to have her lose cleanly. If you are going to bother having women wrestling on your show, then give the audience a reason to care about them. I'm begging for some kind of coherent feud in that division, even if its Maryse and Rosa arguing over the make-up chair.
