I was thinking of how most tag teams these days are just two randomly paired wrestlers that have nothing better to do, every so often they actually work, against all odds.
Mine would have to be Viscera and Haas. A tag team united by their love of beating up Lillian Garcia. I'm not usually a fan of women beating angles, but for some reason the whole damn thing was so absurd it made me laugh. Ok, go.

Kane and X-Pac, Kane and Hurricane, and Kane and RVD were all great. Kane is like impossible to team badly with. Mankind and him were a fairly logical team, though, so I didn't list that one.
Booker T and Goldust is still my favorite "Wha?" tag team, although it might not count since there was a great buildup to it.

While they didn't necessarily have "nothing better to do"...one I liked was Matt Hardy and MVP. They were a pretty good team from what I remember.
Also, one of the most successful of the Random Tag Teams...since they actually became a regular team from it...when "Double J" Jesse James teamed with Rockabilly...and changed their names to "Road Dogg" Jesse James (later just Road Dogg) and "Badd Ass" Billy Gunn (Later just Mr. Ass)

Kane and Big Show destroying everbody because they could That's my pick. They were entertaining as hell. How could you not love their constant "anything you can do I can do better" attitude against teams. They destroyed everyone in their path, and that's the most entertaining the tag division has been in years.

Benoit and Angle. Just because they had some sort of chemistry where they hated each other so much, couldn't actually beat the hell out of each other.. so it seemed like they'd beat the hell out of their opponents as a way of saying, "This is TOTALLY what I'd do to you if I could!"
One of the few times where a teams own hate for each other, damn near made them unstoppable.

Miz and Morrison
One week they were feuding with each other, the next they are tag champs and end up becoming one of the greatest teams of this decade.
