This had my favorite match for either Austin or Undertaker. A true classic.

Austin/Taker was one of the greatest main event builds in history. It spanned 2-3 months, involved 6 different people (Austin, Taker, McMahon, Bearer, Kane, Mankind), and it showed. The anticipation for the match was amazing. The build for that match will always feed the legend of this PPV. Something we haven't seen since and will never see again IMO. A match announced 8 weeks in advance, a PPV in between, and the two never lay a finger on one another until the match itself. Someone on here said you can't do a long build without physical interaction between the participants. This match and feud shoots that theory all to hell.

i was actually at this show. for whatever reason, i felt let down.
positives: the ladder match had a ton of heat and was probably the best match of the night. i had legit intrigue as to who would lose the hair-vs-hair match. the reaction to edge being named sable's partner got a big pop.
negatives: yes, the d'lo/val match was good, but the DQ ending was disappointing. the tag title match was decent for what it was, but i don't think a lot of the audience got what was happening when kane popped up out of the dumpster. the lion's den match didn't even take place in MSG (but rather next door), and it felt odd watching on the screen, and the austin/taker match ended very abruptly. i forgot when the "knockout" happened, maybe that had something to do with it. i just remember taker taking a stunner and the 1-2-3.

I thought the match from Cold Day in Hell was better in my opinion, but Austin/Taker as a face/face part 2 is still a good eat!

This was a pretty decent show, I loved Austin/Taker..that was one hell of a match. D'Lo/Val was a great opener as well despite the DQ finish.

That is how you build a big time match

I really think this is one of the most overated ppvs ever. Owen/Shamrock sucked because the Lion's Den match turned out to be pointless and actually created a much worse match than it should have been. HHH/The Rock was IMO the most overated match of all time, and I still go back and watch it over and over again to try to figure out what was so great about it. I think D-Lo and Val was the best match on the card by a long shot, and the X-pac/Jarrett match wasn't bad either. The main event could have been better, but it was alright.
