It is very true that Diva's have a strong dependancy on how attractive they are. But one thing that makes a little difference is a few women can make it and avoid being all that good looking, albeit because of one of Vince's strange obsessions with muscle like with Nicole Bass or to a lesser extent Chyna. I don't see many Divas going in that direction but it's really the only alternative besides being the "drop-dead gorgeous model" that is strongly required of the WWE.

WWE's attitude towards women is paleolythic in its misogyny. Older women CAN be attractive (Tara)

Older women CAN be attractive (Tara) Krissy Vaine was also a guest on the diva dirt radio show recently and she said she knew of one female developmental wrestler (I think it was Angelina Love, but she didn't say) who got fired because she "was not a perfect ten". They actually said that to the poor girl's face when she asked for a reason. That is pretty damn terrible.

I'm still waiting on that evidence of Jillian's "surgery". People are bringing it up like it's some kind of undebatable fact when it could just as easily be a simple make-up job. The boobs I won't mention, obviously they're there. WWE's attitude towards women is paleolythic in its misogyny. Off the top of my head I can think of several girls under contract who aren't "perfect 10"'s, so I don't think it's a company-wide viewpoint. Someone with that type of attitude really shouldn't have that job, to say the least.

I'm pretty sure the woman in question was Velvet, not Angelina. There's footage of her being cut in the Diva Search floating around.

Krissy Vaine using Botox is probably the least shocking revelation she could have made.
At the time, the trend was more toward hiring Playboy models so any girl who didn't look like one (and couldn't make up for it by being either a fantastic wrestler or having a ton of charisma) was axed pretty quickly. Its slightly better now, although they are no where near where TNA is in terms of hiring women based on their talent.

Okay, but I thought Velvet was cut in the Diva Search. she was i posted the video of it a while back she didnt even make it into the top 20 Of course not. She actually had some experience under her belt at the time. Can't have a Diva Search contestant with that! Granted, she is only decent in the ring at best, but that still puts her miles ahead of all of the Diva Search people when they all got started (or in some cases to this day).

Also Krissy Vaine is super attractive in my view.

Krissy wrote in her blog about how she pitched a nerd character and she was told no and to "act as sexy as possible". That goes along with Maria stopping being a ditz and becoming "hawt" and Mickie James ceasing being interesting. I dont think the Divas are a draw at all anymore. They were a draw in the days where Sable was popular, there was a chance that we may see titties on a given night. The ladies were given distinct characters. Today, theres complete silence during matches. Something needs to change.

They were a draw in the days where Sable was popular, there was a chance that we may see titties on a given night. The ladies were given distinct characters. Today, theres complete silence during matches. Something needs to change. Well, you summed it up: back in the late 90's, before so many people had broadband internet connections, many teenage boys were flicking over to WWF to get their fix of women stripping down to their underwear, in the vain hope of seeing a "slip" or something along the way. Hell, they had one of the better women wrestlers of the era, Jacqueline, under contract, and she rarely actually wrestled for YEARS. Well, now we all have Internet connections and tons of us have broadband, so tuning into TV to see some skin seems a bit pointless. Instead, if you want the women's division to be a selling point, you have to actually let these girls work and put on strong matches, give them some distinct personalities, storylines, etc. WWE flatly refuses to do that, for the most part.

It's not just that... WWE has the unusual ability to make hot women look boring
A lot of hot-blooded males like Divas. What they don't like, is the long Diva Search contests. They were boring, uninteresting, stupid, at best. And, as this site documented, they can be far worse.
And when everyone is a "ten" (sarcasm), no one really stands out in terms of looks. No one looks unique. They all blend in. I don't want to see the same cookie-cutter blonde. And all of them are just being there for looks, none of are unique in character, either.
And besides, a lot of wrestling fans have enough of that. It's overdone.

You're also taking into account that hot-looking women can be boring as hell when it comes to acting/ringwork (Bellas are a good example).
