It's been said many times that pro wrestling is one of the most physically demanding professions in the world. So many wrestlers have battled addictions to prescription pain killers and it must be almost impossible to get through life without pain relief.
So how does CM Punk relieve the pain? He's in a main event slot, having physically demanding matches several nights a week. But he's straight edge and doesn't take any drugs.
Does he just live with intense pain?
Doesn't this shorten his career life expectancy?
Or does he forget about his staight edge lifestyle when it comes to pain relief?

he sucks it up and deals with the pain like a man because he's not one of these weak people like Jeff Hardy and Raven who need pills and alcohol to live. the fact he doesn't need anything to deal with the pain proves that not only is he better than you, he's also a hell of a lot tougher than you.

Congratulations! you just recited every one of CM Punk's pomos for the last two months! and most likely, every one we'll see fom now until Wrestlemania!

Does the straight edge lifestyle mean no Tylenol or prescribed medications when taken in accordance with doctor recommendations?

Does the straight edge lifestyle mean no Tylenol or prescribed medications when taken in accordance with doctor recommendations? I'm sure he's still allowed to take those, yes. I don't think he makes a habit of using prescription painkillers, though, considering he has foregone it during injuries in the past.

I remember reading a report sometime that happened in 2001-2003 that CM Punk cracked his skull from a botched split leg moonsault in the indies and he refused prescription painkillers from the doctor when he kept on insisting. Someone clarify this for me pretty please.

Someone clarify this for me pretty please. I've heard that myself. If you CAN work through pain, it's generally better to, considering that pain meds are easy to become addicted to. That, and overuse makes them essentially worthless.

No, they don't become worthless, you just have to take a shit load more.
I was asking myself this question the other day. Like some of you said, though, he's just a tough bastard. That and f***ing every diva on the roster probably takes his mind off the soreness.

Straight edge doesn't mean that you don't take any drugs ever. It means that you never take anything that isn't nessicary. I'm sure he takes tylenol for the massive stuff. Plus, I can personally attest to the advantage of being straight edge. I have only taken meds if specifically pescribed by a doctor and then only the specific dosage.
When I had my appendix out the doctor gave me five tylenol 3s if the pain got really bad. At one point, because I had hit the area with a door, I was in blinding pain. I laid down and took the pill and was essentially paralyzed. If you don't use drugs unless needed the ones you do take have a much stronger effect.

Same, sort of, happened to me with a Vicodin for a terrible tooth infection. I only took one pill, and it pretty much put me on dream street.

I doubt he's really drug free. He's too sleazy looking. I'm also confident he takes pain medication, although he could never admit to it, as it would severely disappoint his legion of fellow sXe'rs across middle schools the world over.

\ as it would severely disappoint his legion of fellow sXe'rs across middle schools the world over. That must be a bad thing that kids look up to a guy who doesn't smoke, drink, or do drugs. No matter what he does "in character" he is a great role model for kids as far as his sXe lifestyle is concerned.
