I'm inclined to think so...

I give a slight edge to the Hardy match that main evented a couple of weeks ago, and the first match where he beat Punk while Punk was still Champion. This match along with the 2nd SD Punk match and the EDge match make up his top 5 for me though.

There's more to Morrison than this year. My personal fave match of his is the one where he lost the ECW Title to Punk. Great moment.

I slept through the first half of SmackDown this week and when I woke up I watched Monk instead. Think I should look this match up on Youtube?
Come to think of it, didn't watch SmackDown last week either. Really, ECW's the only must-see show WWE's got every week for me.

I liked his IC series with Hardy too. I remember them having a ladder match that I enjoyed.

Tonight's match was so awesome, it had me on the edge of my seat even after reading spoilers.

Is there any other match - apart from HBK vs Taker - that has got the 'This is awesome' chant this year? I can't recall one right now, and it shows how great the match was.
That said, Morrison has a massive catalogue of great matches. I'm so glad the crowd is loving him now too.

Level with the Punk match, but really really good. Morrison is having his best year yet.

What always makes me think "Holy shit" about Morrison is that...dude won Tough Enough. Like, he didn't get picked out of an indy fed or something, he applied for a TV show and now look at him, one of THE best workers on Smackdown. And then I start to think of how much I miss Maven and Matt Cappotelli but nevermind...

I honestly can't say what his best match is. Morrison's had plenty of amazing matches, whether it was when he was a part of MNM, when he was doing his post-MNM singles run, his singles heel run as John Morrison, his tag run with the Miz, or his current time as a face. Over the past +4 years this guy has had an incredible career in terms of matches, and IMO, he's been one of the best workers they've had for more than half that time. Everything that he does in the ring he does so well, and it's no wonder he's as over as he is for it.
I don't even know if I could give a top ten list of his best matches, because there's so many out there that are almost impossible to individually remember. But I'm sure that now as IC champ (or even after, with the push he's getting) he'll be having plenty of awesome matches to come.

Don't know if I'd call it the best match of his career, but this is EASILY the best run of his career. The man is putting on quality match after quality match. Fans are really starting to take notice of him. Big things are in the future of the Friday Night Delight, the Shaman of Sexy, the Admiral of Abdominals, the Sultan of Style, the Enlightened Executioner, the Hash-Slinging Slasher, the Guru of Greatness, the Picasso of Pro Wrestling, the Czar of Cool, the Dean of Dazzle, the Tan with the Plan!

To make it easier, I'll mention matches of his that I consider his best:
-vs Rey Mysterio of the IC Title (Smackdown 9/4/09) -vs Jeff Hardy for the WHC (Smackdown 8/3/09) -vs CM Punk for the ECW Title (ECW 9/5/07) -vs CM Punk (First Match on Smackdown this year) -vs Edge (Smackdown earlier this year) -vs Shelton Benjamin vs Carlito vs the IC Title (Vengeance 2006) -& Joey Mercury vs Hardys vs vs Regal/Taylor vs Londrick in a Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Titles (Armageddon 2006) -vs Evan Bourne (Morrison's last match on ECW earlier this year) -& Joey Mercury vs Eddie Guerrero & Rey Mysterio (Smackdown 4/18/05) -vs Jeff Hardy for the IC Title (Unforgiven 2006) -vs Jeff Hardy in a Ladder Match for the IC Title (Late Raw 2006) -vs Jeff Hardy in a Steel Cage for the IC Title (New Year's Revolution 2007) -& The Miz vs The Colons for the World Tag Titles (Smackdown early 2009) -& The Miz vs The Colons for the WWE Tag Titles (Smackdown early 2009) -& The Miz vs The Colons to Unify the Tag Titles (Wrestlemania 25 Pre-Show) -& Joey Mercury vs Batista & Rey Mysterio for the WWE Tag Titles (Smackdown 12/13/05) -& Joey Mercury vs Batista & Rey Mysterio in a Steel Cage for the WWE Tag Titles (Smackdown 12/27/05) -& Joey Mercury vs The Hardys (December to Dismember 2006) -vs CM Punk in a 15 Minutes of Fame Match (ECW 2007)
I hope MGH does a John Morrison list soon.

The best part of last nights match was JR putting over the Intercontinental title so huge. Another reason why I effing love Smackdown and am so grateful to be going to a taping during this "era".

I prefer his match vs Hardy from a couple of weeks ago, I really did not expect him to kick out of a Swanton Bomb. That was a huge markout moment.

He been simply awesome. John Morrison I can see him being a World Champion in some point on 2010. He the best thing to ever come out of Tough Enough. In a way I kinda look at him as the new RVD in the ring. As in his ring style being creative and unorthidox. But without the drugs and stiffness.
Morrison I always saw the future star in him. Now it really showing. As much I found him and the Miz together entertaining. I'm glad now they broke up and Morrison getting his time to shine again as a singles wrestler.

His 2 matches with Jericho on superstars were awesome too. Im not really a fan of getting dvds of wrestlers still early in their careers but if they made a Morrison one soon I would definitely get it.
