The guy had it all: superstar look, great in-ring skills, natural charisma, and could cut a killer promo.
What would you say the chances are, of him getting at least some sort of DVD release in the next few years?
I can't see why one hasn't been done yet, aside from Vince still harboring a grudge over him famously jumping ship and showing up on Nitro a couple years before his death.

They have more than enough stuff for a two-disc set.
I actually recently dreamed a couple times that I became a Rick Rude-esque character--"Dreamy" David Matthews ("David Matthews" being my 'porn star name'; check the rules), a big fat guy who thought he was the most gorgeous man on earth, calling all the fans fat, stupid blobs (the blatant hypocrisy would make him a heel). The kicker was that he would have a gorgeous female valet who would back up every word he made.

BTW, they should definately make one along with his future Hall of Fame induction. Any year now.

This should happen (the DVD and the HOF induction) because 'Ravishing' Rick is a total legend and just happens to be one of my all-time favourites, but I have my doubts it will happen for various reasons.
I have no idea who would be inducting him (that is if they were to go for a name) if he did get in though.

I'm not quite as high on Rude as everyone else. I like him, but I can't think of enough matches to fill a DVD.
So Rude fans, start naming off some DVD worthy matches and promos.

He could make for a pretty neat DVD, to be sure.

I haven't really had much exposure to Rude's work, though I'm sure it'd be a quality DVD. At the same time, though, it'd be easy to argue WWE shouldn't do it because it likely wouldn't sell very well - it's much the same sort of thought I had on the Pillman DVD set, really.

While I'm not familiar with his pre-WWF stuff, I'm more than certain his early days in Florida has some great matches, and Vince does own the library. As far as WWF and beyond, the following spring to mind: Rick Rude vs. Jake Roberts (WM IV) [they had a pretty great feud] Rick Rude vs. Jake Roberts (SNME, XVII) Rick Rude vs. Ultimate Warrior (WM V) Wargames 1992 (Rude was in the badass main event) Rick Rude vs. Ricky Steamboat (Beach Blast) [30min Iron Man Match] Rick Rude vs. Ric Flair (Halloween Havoc 93) Rick Rude, Sandman, Tommy Dreamer vs. Jerry Lawler, Sabu, RVD (Heatwave 97) More classic Rude moments:

Yes, Rude is overdue for one. And they should give the Rude Steamboat feud a good amount of time on a DVD they release of either guy.
As for inducting him, the only guys I could think of are Heenan (but we all know that Rude wasn't to fond of Heenan or anyone else as a manager) or Steamboat.

There's plenty of material for a DVD. vs Jake the Snake, vs Warrior, vs Sting, maybe one or two matches where he managed D-X, etc.

I think he should get a DVD because he had a career and a story I feel must be told. He was a good wrestler with a great look and did very well in the wrestling business. I did not like him as much in WCW but in WWE was great.

Right now I do not care about hall of fame I would just like a DVD package on his great career.

That's my real life gimmick whenever I have a girlfriend
