Alright, I recently bought a tagged Classics DVD with Judgment Day 2000 on it. I remember watching it when it first aired and it was a nice little trip down memory lane.
Though while watching it I was reminded of a catchphrase that I havent thought of in years belonging to one Shane-O-Mac....
Which way did he go? Which way did he go?
Now I can vividly remember Shane saying this for a while, hell I even remember copying him and saying it when I was out playing with my friends cos I thought Shane McMahon was cool (leave me alone I was 9!)
But for the life of me I can't remember where the line came from, in what context it was originally said, or what the hell it's supposed to mean.
Can anyone help me out?

I think he first used it in his feud with Big Show. I'm not sure what it is a reference to.

He was mocking the Big Show. The idea was that he was so quick, Show was left wondering "Which way did he go?"
I can't remember exactly, but I think that's it.

I thought it was when he read a fake bedtime story type thing making fun of Show, and that was a line in it.
I remember him using it, just can't remember where it started.

That was a year later when they had their Last Man Standing match at Backlash. I remember that specifically just cos when he said it I thought "huh, he hasn't said that in a while." He was mocking the Big Show. The idea was that he was so quick, Show was left wondering "Which way did he go?" I can't remember exactly, but I think that's it. Hmm. That sounds about right. Certainly makes the most sense.

I actually remember Show and Shane being in the same place at the same time either earlier this year or late last year and some guy in the front row just happened to also remember this and was sending it their way loud and clear. I wanted to buy that fan a cold beverage.
But yeah, I'm pretty sure it was just something Shane kept bringing up because of Show's slowness. I recall them having a match or two together around this time and Shane out-quicking him always featured heavily.

Looney Tunes reference which was in turn based on Of Mice and Men "Which way did he go George? Which way did he go?"

I think the first instance of it being used was during a backstage segment on the May 8th 2000 Raw.
The previous weeks SmackDown had seen Jericho, The Dudleyz, Rikishi and Big Show form a quasi-alliance against the Fact-gime. At the start of that nights Raw the new alliance appeared on the ramp to confront Vince & Co. During the verbal confrontation, Shane called out Big Show.
In a segment a little later Shane's on the phone backstage when an angry Big Show bursts in Shane somehow manages to talk him round saying he just wants him to be the best he can be and be a killer. Shane puts Show in an IC Title match with Jericho that night (Y2J's 2nd match that night he'd end up having 3), Big Show leaves.
During the Show/Jericho match footage comes on the titantron (for some reason they didn't use the GTV gimmick) of Shane returning to his phone call after Big Show had left, he compains about Show hurting his neck when he was angry and starts mocking him 'Which way did he go, which way did he go?'. Big Show gets angry and heads to the back, Jericho wins by countout. The feud (and phrase is born).

Looney Tunes reference which was in turn based on Of Mice and Men "Which way did he go George? Which way did he go?" Oh my god! I never even thought of linking it with Of Mice and Men. But now that you mention it, the way the whole storyline was going at the time, that line makes perfect sense. I knew the Crap wouldn't let me down. Wow. That's one helluva memory you got there. Don't think it can get more concise than that.

I remember the "Which way did he go George" line being used in an old cartoon, but I couldn't tell you which one.

It's a gift.
