If they were smart, they'd shed as little lgiht as possible on Edge.
Give the guy a surprise comeback, really pop the crowd

If the wrestler is popular you should let the audience know he is coming back. Build it up to be something huge maybe pop a rating. Coming back with no announcement just makes the crowd pop while the ratings stay flat.

Survivor Series drew one of the worst buyrates in its history last year and it was built around Cena's big return. If Edge surprisingly shows up somewhere and it's a show I decided not to watch, it tells me that I can't miss WWE TV because something awesome might happen, even if it looks mundane.

So when he comes back will there be a possible Jericho/Edge feud?

If the wrestler is popular you should let the audience know he is coming back. Build it up to be something huge maybe pop a rating. Coming back with no announcement just makes the crowd pop while the ratings stay flat. I personally think it depends on the talent. I think with Edge being the ultimate opportunist and a heel... a surprise return fits him well. It also adds unpredictability to the show, which was a major selling point during the Monday Night Wars. Someone like Cena, Batista, HHH, Taker... yeah, you wanna plug their return more often than not. It's the fair thing to do... "I'm coming back and letting everyone know to their face". (This also allows a heel to complain that they're hogging the spotlight or whatever) while a heel returns and jumps right into the mix... stabbing someone in the back. Plus, and some will argue the usefulness of it... but surprise returns do boost WWE.com views and often tend to bump into top searches on search engines. This "may or may not" help the product or ratings... but WWE seems to like it, regardless. Oh and even if Edge does return as a face, you have to admit... him sliding into the ring while Jericho isn't paying attention and then hitting him with the spear will get a great reaction AND people tuning in the next week. (And from there... it's booking and WWE's duty to keep those fans hooked. The flat ratings is on Vince and the writer's side of things. It's not like 95% of the guys can cut loose with the current setup of overly fleshed out promos and former Nickelodeon employees telling them what to do when they're out there.)

Royal Rumble: Cena's surprise return. Buyrates are higher than last year. Survivor Series: Cena's announced return. Buyrates are slightly lower than last year's that focused on the return of Edge. I gotta say, this sounds about right.

If Edge returns with the crazy beard, can he please join forces with Mike Knox. That would be rad.

Edge is wwe's best all round performer (excluding Shawn Michaels) in the last 8 years. I look foward to his return next year.
