So it's been just about three months since ECW's much vaunted New Talent Initiative introduced us to four new recruits.
Abe interviewed the Bella Twins and was almost universally crapped on. Sheamus squashed a jobber and spoke some Irish. Tyler Reks... said hi to Zack Ryder. And Yoshi Tatsu put up with some racial caricatures before kicking Shelton Benjamin in the head.
Three months on, who do you think has been the standout star of the New Talent Initiative and who do you think will be the first (if any) to be released?

It's a tough call between Sheamus and Yoshi as to which of the two has been more breakout, but them and, in recent weeks, Abraham Washington have all found a niche.
Which means the first to go will be Tyler Reks. Unless he gets him some purple, he could benefit greatly from purple ring gear.

I WISH I could say that Recks was the most successful, because I'm a big fan of the guy, but I've gotta give it to Yoshi. Dude is over big time, and seems to have a bright future.

Absolutely Yoshi Tatsu. The crowds are surprisingly into him, and he even got crowd chants in only his second TV match. And now he's being grouped in with the top ECW stars. Granted, that's not saying much with a light roster, but based on his pinfall victory over William Regal, it seems like he's really going places.
As for Sheamus, I really want him to succeed because he's got an awesome look and plenty of charisma. And this is totally disregarding nationality, but he and Burchill could be a really good tag team.

Right now it's definitely Tatsu. He showed some fire in that finishing sequence tonight and it really made the crowd explode. I think in the end Sheamus has the most potential to make it big in WWE, but the crowds are hesitant to take to him thus far. Tatsu isn't having that problem. I will also say in the case of Abe Washington, he's turned the corner and stopped sucking the life out of every segment he was in. Adding Tony was a stroke of genius (he kills me every week), and I look forward to the segment every week now believe it or not.

Am I still the last person clinging to the apparently sinking ship of Abe Washington hate? The dude just doesn't appeal to me at all.

Abraham Washington, because he didn't get released in 2 weeks like I thought.

Who voted Tyler Reks? That's not funny.

Who voted Tyler Reks? That's not funny. Not me, I voted for Washington.

I vote Tatsu, though it seemed to be possibly ending for a few weeks.
This is in spite of my friend HATING his music.
And a rumor that Tatsu may be getting a new song, which may kill his momentum fan-wise.

With all due respect to Yoshi, I have to give it to Sheamus by a hair. Yoshi has been gaining popularity, and Sheamus is destined for greatness. Even Abe is finally hitting his stride with his talk show. Sadly, Tyler is the one lagging behind in this class.

I'm surprised Sheamus is leading. Happy, but surprised. I would have voted for Yoshi myself.

I don't see the appeal in Washington, I really don't.
Sheamus on the other hand, is awesome.

I don't like the guy either, but the addition of Tony Atlas has at least made the show somewhat watchable. The Brother Love thing is decent, but he ought to eventually become a heel manager down the road.
