They have gone through pretty much all of the main heel opponents except CM Punk on free tv in the last few weeks.
Kane, Big Show, Jericho....
I feel like this is what they do when a turn is coming. Go though all of the possible opponents before the turn happens.
Agree?

Nah, I don't think so. Who would he even beat down on SmackDown to turn heel? If jumping Taker at No Way Out 2007 didn't do it, I don't know what will.

True, but WWE was still trying to book Batista as a face, despite his feuding with Taker. If Batista nailed Rey, left him for dead/Jerishow win, and then perhaps attack Rey again/Kayfabe hurt him later in the show......I'm sure that would solidly turn him heel. Just have him verbally attack the fans/be revealed as CM Punk's new muscle on the next Smackdown to seal the deal.

Can't believe I'm typing this but a feud between Rey and heel Batista wouldn't actually be half-bad. They do have some history that can be incorporated into storyline..ANYTHING to keep Batista out of the WHC-picture

You know what would make me unbelieveably happy?
If they're fighting Jerishow, can't beat them, and Batista bails in frustration after powerbombing Rey. Show goes to cover Rey, but Jericho stops him, and has Show get off the apron.
Rey and Jericho go back and forth, Rey's all screwed up, Jericho wins.
The next Smackdown, Rey calls out Jericho. "I wanted to say thank you. Thank you for not taking the low road and letting me have a fair fight."
Rey offers his hand, Jericho ignores it. Jericho explains he did what he did because Jericho and Big Show are the absolute best and don't need to play the odds. Rey says thank you anyway, and Jericho gives him a "whatever" nod. As he leaves, "I Walk Alone" hits.
Batista comes down to the ring and calls Rey a pathetic coward, who's been "too nice for too long." Batista explains that he is not a nice guy.
Brawling, and you go from there.

Undertaker's too old and banged up to carry "Big" Dave around anymore.
Him turning on Rey would probably cement the turn and it'd be great if a heel "Big" Dave went on to give Morrison the rub, but that ain't happening, at least, not with both Punk and Undertaker around on the roster still.

They have to have someone for Punk to face and, if they didn't turn him when he cost Trips the title, they wont now, IMO.

There's a dearth of big-time faces on SD! right now, and Dave is way over, so I don't see it happening any time soon.

I feel he also needs a heel turn and may turn heel in his tag match at the PPV or will screw Undertaker some how in the hell in the cell match so Punk walks out champion? He is a far better heel then face.

Batista vs Mysterio wrestlemania? would be a way to get them on the card without being wasted in MITB. Don't see neither of them in ME picture

he doesn't need to turn heel to feud with Faces. A heel turn would be cool though.

I think that Batista and Rey are going to be in a holding pattern. Taker/Punk *might* have another chapter after Hell in a Cell. But it is clear that Punk's next two challengers need to be Batista and Mysterio. Punk and Batista have unfinished business. And, since WWE has only acknowledged Rey's absence on air with JoMo saying "Thanks, wherever you are!" in his promo, they have set it up for Punk to cut the "It's 7pm on Friday. Do you know where your Rey Mysterio is? He's at the pharmacy getting controlled pain medications that he doesn't have a prescription for" promo.

Maybe Dave will turn heel following the PPV on Smackdown?
