Seems more like parity which professional sports leagues covet. This. I'm not saying I want the belt to change every month, but I really don't want a dominant world-beater on top, with everyone else being pushed as "Not even CLOSE to the champion's level!", either.

The telling fact between those 15 title changes is that it's been between 6 people (Cena, HHH, Orton, Punk, Hardy and now Taker)

This is what we get when we have 4 weekly wrestling shows & 12+ PPVs each year. Overexposure runs rampant.

A lot of people who decry the Attitude Era point to constant title changes as one of their pet peeves and used that as a defense of the modern era around the beginning of this year.
Where is your god now?
I think its funny that all the midcard titles are more important to me anymore since they rarely change hands.

And despite that, it still feels like ANYONE could come up and snatch them away from the champion. Not so much with the Big Belts.

So Cena holds the title for more than a year, and we beg for more frequent title changes. Now the title starts changing hands more than Batista changes condoms, and we now want more Cena-like title reigns.
Yup, Vince has officially f***ed up our minds.

At this rate I would really like to see some long time mid-card champ (heel or babyface) come February or so, basically challenge their respective World Champion at Wrestlemania with the point that while the world titles have jumped around to everyone, they've been able to keep their belt the entire time and have successfully defended against all challengers.
Consistent IC/US Champion vs. Very Inconsistent WWE/WH Champion would be an interesting story to tell.

I really think in comparing Frequent Title-Changes Vs Long-Consistent Reigns...it's kind of irrelevant. I hated Triple H's long reign. But the current swapping of titles isn't very much fun either.
I honestly think it has to do more in terms of quality of the contenders/title holder and the current storylines..

Forgot Batista's 24 hour reign also. Okay then, 15 title changes between 8 people, and every one of them was a world champion in the past. Out of those 8, the only person who was established this year was Punk.

This is what we get when we have 4 weekly wrestling shows & 12+ PPVs each year. Overexposure runs rampant. This. Its not so much the 4 weekly shows that take anything away (as they usually have nothing to do with one another) but 12 PPV's a year is just too many. If the WWE were to just cut that if half and have 6 PPVs a year it'd be okay. You'd have two months to build up feuds and storylines. If someone wins a belt at a PPV then holds it for two more PPVs before losing it, that's a four month title reign. I just think it'd be so much easier on the booking team if they didn't have to worry about shaking things up at a PPV every single month. 3 weeks is just not enough time to create a solid feud.

I don't think we're at the point where the Title changes even make things "must see" anymore. I feel like maybe that approach worked when their was ONE World Title, but when you have TWO World Titles constantly changing hands its not really that exciting. Blah.
I think WWE is just doing whatever they can to push their PPV numbers up right now, for whatever reason. And I can see people thinking more Title changes and lots of gimmick matches will make them more interesting and must see but it isn't working. Solid stories and interesting matchups sell PPVs, it has to be more than just "a Title might change hands so I better watch it"
EDIT:
And I think when you have two World Titles, maybe both Titles dont need to be defended at every PPV. Give one Champ the night off while you build a long term feud on the shows with him, or put him in a tag match, or something. We could've done Undertaker vs Punk at HIAC and left Cena/Orton off, and done Cena/Orton at Bragging Rights and leave Taker and Punk off that. But I don't know.

Dammit this means cena gets to use his rematch clause doesnt it? Probably tomorrow night. If Bragging Rights' main event holds up (and no belts change hands), it'll be Orton vs. Taker vs. Christian in a Champion of Champions match (remember Cyber Sunday '06?). Then, I can see HHH and Orton dragging on their 5 year feud... again.
