Didn't Cena drop his blade in the WWE Title match and the referee picked it up? Was this a planned blade job that got nixed because he dropped his blade?

I don't know. There wasn't really a point in the match that would call for Cena to blade. And if HHH didn't blade to sell his death after that CrossRhodes, nobody was ever going to blade.

I was wondering that myself. I saw what looked like a razor fall out of his pocket or wrist band after the backbreaker (I think) and saw the ref pick it up and pocket it.

If it wasn't planned though why would he of had one.
I assume in the no blood era they don't carry one was standard...

If it was planned, I'm sure the referee could have easily given it back to Cena at some point in the match. Refs used to do that. If it was a big spot, I can't see them just ditching it like that. Maybe Cena was going rouge and was going to blade without permission, blaming it on the cell. Either that, or he's a cutter.

Maybe it was just his lucky arrowhead fragment that gives him his Superman powers and dropping it caused him to lose his powers.

I noticed this too but I thought it looked too big to be a blade. Maybe it was just one of his dog tags or something?

Yeah, it will have been a dog tag. The blades that wrestlers use aren't even full blades, only fragments. No way would that have been visible on TV.

Maybe he carries razor blades around as part of his Gillette deal.

Maybe he carries razor blades around as part of his Gillette deal. How heelish would that be, shaving your face during a match...

Hmm. If you look closely, you can see the ninjas and Megatron on the grassy knoll. Looks too thick to be a razorblade, I'd guess dogtag or possibly a stick of gum

Cena definitely was not supposed to blade.
Nothing in the match called for it...plus the ending was Cena standing up pretty quickly and not looking very hurt at all. Why would he have bladed in that case? He stands up seeming perfectly fine with a crimson mask?
Beyond that, even in the past when similar things have occurred the wrestler still blades anyway.

If it were Flair, he'd just do it because he thinks it's fun. Wouldn't matter if it was called for or not...
