It seems the rumor that CM Punk was stripped of his World Championship due to an altercation over the dress code is not the only story circulating the industry.
According to F4WOnline.com, another story that made rounds this weekend is that CM Punk caught heat with WWE officials for openly expressing the belief that he felt it was too soon for him to drop the World Championship.
While most believe the former--that Punk expressed "attitude" when Undertaker confronted him about not dressing like a champion on the European tour--both stories generally point to one thing: a negative reaction to an alleged attitude problem on CM Punk's part led to his being stripped of the title in the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view opener.
News on what supposedly led to CM Punk's title defeat has generated two contrasting reactions from the lockerroom. As Punk has a reputation for being a "heat magnet" with a contingent of the roster, some were pleased to see what they perceived to be his attitude catching up with him and resulting in a punishment. On the other hand, there was a sector that felt anything he might have done was too minor to warrant going against better judgment by putting the World title on a wrestler who is clearly not 100% and does not work most house shows.

No amount of rolly eye smileys could ever express my opinion on the ever popular Punk heatz about his HiaC match.
Also, its funny that one of the first heat stories was he got the heat because he had no problem losing the ECW Title and people felt he didn't fight enough to stay champ.

Vince: Okay, Punk, you're gonna be losing the title to Undertaker tonight. How's that sound? Punk: Um, Vince, no offense buddy, but did you see Mark at Bragging Rights? He's not all there physically. Vince: WHAT? INSULT OUR BIGGEST STAR! IT'S THE DOGHOUSE FOR YOU! Undertaker: Uh, actually, Vince, he's right. Vince: See, Taker agrees with me! NO BELT FOR YOU! Punk:...are you senile? Vince: BUT OF COURSE! *puts on Napolean hat and bounces around the room*
...that's the only possible way it could've gone down.

I don't think f4W and the Observer has ever suggested that the "heat" led to the title switch as that was planned anyway. The only thing it was supposed to have led to was going on first and losing in 10 minutes. But there's another story suggesting it had to do with Taker's declining confidence in his abilities. Meltzer was even saying last night that a lot of the locker room is still flabbergasted that they put the title on Taker who is not even doing house shows.
Not sure what to believe right now, but I guess Punk might have upset some people who have been talking to the dirt sheets, and some writers have put two and two together.

IF Punk did say that, he's right. It was too soon for him to lose the WHC.

IF Punk did say that, he's right. It was too soon for him to lose the WHC. But is he really in the position to be voicing his opinion like that? I mean I would say he is, since they obviously trust him enough to put the belt on him three different times, but this is modern professional wrestling we're talking about.

I like that in today's WWE you can be a three time world champion and still apparently have to "know your role", keep your mouth shut and "pay your dues." Well, at least if this rumour had any basis in fact.

Can we just admit that Punk is the biggest Internet lightning rod?

A lot of the "Punk haz teh heatz" stuff is really silly, especially since VKM himself has publicly endorsed him as the "next one."
However, I would not be too surprised to find out that there is a contingent of wrestlers who for whatever reason either don't like Punk or don't find him deserving of his spot and want to cause trouble for him.
A good chunk of the so-called newz items come from guys who love venting their frustrations to writers who are all-to-eager to print any juicy bit of gossip they are given.

Well, at least if this rumour had any basis in fact. Haha. Agreed. Funny thing is, and maybe this is my 'smark' side coming out, I think CM Punk has probably 'paid his dues' more than some of the WWE's top stars who were nursed through their developmental system.

these stories are really getting old Seconded. It seems like if Punk isn't winning or looking like a god against his opponents, there's got to be something wrong.
