When Hogan ran out during Bash at the Beach and turned heel, joining Hall & Nash before nWo was formed. He kind of ruined the moment.. I think this would be more appropriate in the (w)rest of Wrestling section though.

Oh who cares, Bobby Heenan is the greatest of all time and thats an unquestionable FACT.
The world is round, the sun is hot and Bobby Heenan is a God.

Yeah he was great with Monsoon is WWF, but from everything I've seen of his WCW tenure, he sucked ass. He annoyed the s*** out of me.

Mainly because I knew he was capable of so much better. He just didn't live up to expectations in WCW.

Well as Heenan will tell you himself - it didn't take long for him to turn into someone who just turned up, took the pay cheque and left.
The way the company was run and the total lack of professionalism of those around him meant that for much of his WCW run he didn't care. Sad when a company does that to a talent such as Heenan's.

It showed. He just wasn't the same.

Check out Heenan's autobiography; he goes into pretty good detail about how badly he was handcuffed as an announcer in WCW, as well as how poorly the place was run.
Heenan was fantastic in his ROH appearances. God, I love that man.

I think alot of Bobby's problem in WCW was he had a crappy straight man in Schiavonie. I watched a match earlier with those two, and Tony no-sold everything Bobby said. And in a comedy duo, you have to have a good straight man.

I always thought that one moment was a small blemish on an otherwise brilliant career for Heenan. When I first watched BatB (on tape, already knew what happend), my thought was "why would he say that?" Wouldn't it be better if all the announcers were totally shocked that Hulkster turned?
And if it was scripted, why not have something afterward where Heenan gave an "I told you so" to Schavonie and Dust? They just kind of ignored it (as WCW was prone to do).

If i had a choice of keeping Savage or Heenan on commentary, i would have thrown a blank cheque at Heenan and let him have whatever he wants

Bobby has always mistrusted Hogan, so it makes perfect sense for him to say that.
And I heard from a prolly incorrect source that they didn't always tell the Announcers what was going to happen.

Was I the only one here who knew Hogan was the 3rd man as soon as he came down the ramp? I mean, if Hogan was gonna stay face, it doesn't make since for the faces to have the NWO outnumbered the whole time during the match, and who could the 3rd man be that would be bigger then the Hulkster? And why wouldn't Hogan have any part in the biggest PPV in years?

I laughed my ass off when he said that. Typical Heenan. Just imagine it was WWF circa '92.
MONSOON: It's the hulkster!!! GO get them hulk!! HEENAN: But who's side is he on??? MONSOON: Will you stop?! HEENAN: BUT WHO's SIDE IS HE ON?? MONSOON: I'll have you escorted out of the building!!!

Monsoon: I'm gona have you knocked out. Or better yet I'll do it myself.
Heenan: Take your headset off, me and you are gona go at it!
Monsoon: Boy I hope so
Heenan: If it wasn't for my bad back
Monsoon: And your bad attitude
Royal Rumble 1993 RIP Gorilla.
