With being beat down by Regal one week, then costing him the tag match this week are they testing the waters for a Ryder face turn? Or is this just a case of heels that don't get along with neither side going face?
Maybe wwe are dissapointed with Ryder's lack of heel heat he gets, and are testing to see if the lack of heel heat is because the crowd actually wants to cheer for him instead.

I'm hoping it's just building that Regal and the Roundtable is hated by everyone.
You've got a heel group going around and destroying everyone, it doesn't matter if their face or heel. Just a case of group of heels that's hated by everyone.
This could lead to an awesome Survivor Series match. Regal wants the ECW Title and control of ECW. We could see Regal, Koz, Zeke, Burchill (I will not let the hope die of Burchill joining the Roundtable), and maybe Sheamus, against Christian, Dreamer, Ryder (he'd side with Tiffany because at least she's fair), Yoshi and Shelton or Goldust.

I think of Zack Ryder more as a self-sufficient, survivalist heel.
Regal breaks the rules regularly and his Roundtable assaults everyone in sight. Zack Ryder's not that type. He gets his big matches through diplomacy with Tiffany rather than trying to wipe her out and run the show. He doesn't work with anyone else not because he's a monster like some heels are, but because he simply has no use for an alliance with anyone. If he wants something done, he does it himself, but he's not afraid to play the numbers and assist even his natural adversary to stay alive, since he knows that having to deal with guys like Christian and Yoshi is much better than having to deal with Regal, Zeke and Kozlov. His character's actually got some amazing depth and subtleties. He is by no means a face, but he's a heel of which he is the only one of his kind.
Jericho is intellectual. Big Show is a monster. Regal is a tyrant. Orton is a sociopath. Edge is a scheming bastard. Ryder, on the other hand, is a man who unassumingly uses the establishment and the odds to his advantage.
