Would it work? IMO it would raise the prestige of the belts and help elevate who was holding them and also give us new match-ups/. Unify the WWE/WHC, IC and US, Divas and Womens and have the champs travel to both Raw and Smackdown. Could it work though. If they did this, how would they figure out which brand got the title shot that month. Let's hear what some of you guys think.

This is how the WWE Title started out. I liked it. gave you more fueds and they switched between Raw and Smackdown between each PPV. the less titles the better.

You'd have to take into account how arduous and stressful all of the extra travel would be. Jericho did mention on his Twitter that he missed his son's first day of school, so things like that too.
Unify a few titles. US/Intercontinental would be great, it'd probably make the midcard a little more interesting. As for the WWE/WHC, not sure. Or they could always pull a TNA move and take something from a video game -- Champion of Champions belt.

It would make the titles more relevant
Less titles and less title changes would make thing better
Tag, inter, womens and worlds are enough

Too many stars and itd be too inconsistent. How do you keep two storylines going at once?

Honestly? If they unified the World and WWE titles, I'd stop watching.

Honestly? If they unified the World and WWE titles, I'd stop watching. You never watched pre 2002? I started watching in 1998. It's just that things have changed so much at this point that if they did go back to one world title with the current layout of the main event scene new stars would be even slower in the making. Admittedly, would give people like Cena and Orton a need to do other non-title stuff every now and then, but then Cena's non-title feuds tend to veer into the disastrous, and I don't like Orton either way.

All this would do is have Cena or Triple H stinking up 2 shows.

The titles should be merged. I can't figure out how I'm supposed to get behind 3 separate "world" champions.

I disagree.
Not that the WWE wouldn't be at its strongest with one, true World Champion, as the spotlight theory is how Vince built an empire in the first place, but I simply don't trust the WWE creative team enough to be able to handle the two brands that don't have World Champions. The World title is always an easy vessel for a feud between two workers, but a feud without a title belt is always harder to try and make work.
With one World title, there's always the problem with having the two brands without a Champion. Does the World Champion stay in one brand, how do they determine the #1 contenders, does the World Champion travel between brands and have multiple feuds at once? In 2002, the then-Undisputed Champion travelled between two brands and I always found it very confusing to try and follow the storylines and #1 contenders. Sure, the Unified Champion could have multiple feuds going at once in all three brands, since everybody's gunning for the Champion, but it would get extremely confusing and also ruin the one-on-one dynamic that usually constitutes to a good storyline.
That said, I would love to have one, undisputed World Champion that is truly the top dog of the company, but as it is with the brand split, I feel that having three seperate Champions is a necessary evil right now. And personally, I would love to have more brand seperation between the three shows. Make them feel entirely unique, stop having people appearing on all shows and maybe bring back brand specifig Pay Per Views, but this time have only 12 PPVs a year, with Raw and SmackDown! getting four PPVs of their own plus the Big 4 and make the PPVs feel more special with a proper build. Maybe have Bragging Rights as a dual-branded PPV, though.

I think Bragging Rights had the right idea, a trophy.
Just have the two, or three with ECW, top champs face off, winner gets a trophy they can gloat about. No new title, but it serves the purpose.

They had a bigger roster back in 98 and managed to make it work having one World Title. I dont see how it couldn't work now. The brands were split because the roster was huge after WCW folded. Its now back to pre 2002 levels and ECW is essentially developmental so I dont count it.
Midcard titles should probably be kept since back then there were 2 or 3 midcard belts. IC, Euro and Hardcore. I would keep the ECW Title as well since developmental needs a champ and they dont portray the ECW champ as equa to the main brands champions anymore anyway [and ECW guys rarely appear on other brands or PPV anymore].
Do I think WWE will do this anytime soon? No. I think they should to create a more cohesive product and to allow more than 4 guys per brand ever really going for the belt, but they wont.

Kinda how I plan to do with the Champion of Champions belt in SvR, actually. Going to have an annual thing at Backlash where the three guys who left Mania with the World titles face off in a triple threat, with the winner using the Champion of Champions belt to represent their title until the next Backlash.

We just need World, IC, US, Tag, and Women's. Definitely merge and cut back.

But would you merge the belts with the brand split still in effect or would you guys just end the split altogether? Because with the brand split in effect, I just can't see any realistic way to merge the World titles and have one Champion travelling across three brands and have three seperate World title feuds going on at once. It would be too confusing for the fans and the writers.

Jericho did mention on his Twitter that he missed his son's first day of school, so things like that too. Damn. No, keep it as it is. It was fine back then when there was a balanced roster and no brand split, but 1 world title for 3 brands would make it even harder for young talent to rise as it already is.

Plenty of people miss big things because of work commitments.
Ending the brand split is the only way not to have a stagnant main event because right now it's dire.
You can then use bigger stars to give either the US or IC title a much needed boost then you also have a tag team division and a decent womans division.
Keep ECW separate though as a Televised development and let seasoned pros work the younger wrestlers for 6 months to a year.
TNA are going from strength to strength and if they complete the signing of Hogan and Bischoff they'll have some very good wrestling minds down there.
TNA need 2 or 3 bigger stars and they'll be a threat.
