There are alot of traditions in the wrestling business, getting stunnered by Austin, getting to pose with Hogan, getting your move no-sold by Undertaker, but, there is one more tradition.....geting buried by the Rock.
The Rock has classic burials over the years, and we should post all of the best ones we can think of. This is one that I was watching yesterday involving the Rock and Eddie(RIP).

Where's the burial? The Rock actually puts Eddie over as one bad cat. Sure, The Rock did put people down on the mic at times, but I don't see it here. At least it's not a Billy Gunn level destroyal.
And in all fairness to The Rock, he did plenty of jobs in the ring to justify his ways on the mic. It was his ability to get his heat always back overnight with the microphone that made it possible for The Rock to lay down to people as much as he did.

I don't believe he meant burial in the "Triple H" form, he meant moreso in kayfabe form. Getting buried on the mic in character by The Rock was like a rite of passage.

I seem to recall the Smackdown before the 2001 Royal Rumble, Rock was laying into Chris Jericho pretty thickly before Jericho responded with "NO NO NO NO NO! I will be respected, you sancitmonious sunnuvaBITCH!"

Jericho was probably the only guy in the wrestling industry who could bring it to The Rock on the microphone. Their verbal battles were great in the day. We just don't have that anymore with today's scripted promos.

I will be respected, you sancitmonious sunnuvaBITCH!" I remember that. It was a great promo on Jericho's part, about how people seemed to think it was a foregone conclusion Rock would beat him for the title. Jericho went on to say something along the lines that he will not be marginalized, that he deserves more than that. Rock actually responded to the effect of "you're right, this isn't a joke" sort of spiel, and seemed to do the rest of the promo in a serious tone. It's been a couple of years, so I might be mistaken.

That promo was obviously the prelude to Jericho's current character, as he went on to shout "I am not a JOKE! I AM SERIOUS!"

I remembered that Jericho-Rock promo from 2002. When people have said to me over the years that Jericho's undisputed reign was poor they forget how well the first month went, with this specific promo the point where both he and Rock really put over that Jericho was not a joke. The Rock getting cut off like that was rare, and he treated it properly after that. They then went out and had a hell of a match at the Royal Rumble, and things looked good.
Sadly I remember the Austin match at NWO 2001 kinda sucked both in build-up and execution, and then it went into Hunter vs Steph involving the dog, oh yes and Jericho too.

I will be respected, you sancitmonious sunnuvaBITCH!" That was probably my favourite Rock promo, the one where everyone's going to win the Royal Rumble, and Rock Cam. Then Jericho appears and things get, surprise surprise, SRS! I can never find Test's 12 Days of Christmas one, but that always made me laugh as well.

Rock quote from 2001...
"The Rock was winning big ones when you were down there in WCW on Monday Nitro getting your monkey ass whipped by Juventud Guerrera."
Rock quotes from 2003...
"On one hand, you got a man who revolutionized the industry.A man who appeals to all,to ALL generations. And frankly put, truth be told. The biggest star the industry has ever and will ever see.And on the other hand, you got Hulk Hogan."
"In one corner the man who revolutionized Monday Nights. The man whose the biggest ass kicker to walk the face of the planet. The man who everyone came to see and in the other corner you got Stone Cold Steve Austin."
And another one of my favorites is when he said they kept HHH at the bottom of the barrel because he absolutely SUCK.

One of the funniest burials of all time.
Strangely satisfying watching Triple H get ripped to pieces, especially when you compare it to how today he is never allowed to look remotely weak or stupid.

Awesome. For everyone who complains that The Rock's promos were just formulaic, catchphrase-fests, they really should watch the ones like this, where he just took something completely different and ran with it.
