I seriously have never laughed this hard at anything the WWE produced. IMO the best comedy segment ever
Goldust is pure gold (pun intended, indeed)
"And at WrestleMAAAAaaaaAAAAaaaaAAAAaania..."

Love the way both Trips and Flair were absolutely dying laughing during all this.
Also - wonder if anyone in the company remembers that these two faced off at Mania once.

His gimmick was good for a few laughs. I also loved how HHH and Flair couldn't control themselves listening to Goldust.

From a storyline standpoint I think HHH and Flair laughing wasn't because they legit found it funny (although they may have) but rather because Evolution were the ones who sent him into the electrical outlet and caused the stuttering and thus were mocking him.

I always thought Goldie was ribbing, because Flair and Trips really seem to find it hilarious.

I liked Goldust better when he was making Razor Ramon uncomfortable. Year one Goldust was all kinds of demented and sinister. Never cared for Goldust used as a joke.

Creepy, unsettling Goldust was a fantastic character. Hell, he was still great when he returned to take revenge on Val Venis, but he lost his edge so quickly after that.

Goldust in the WWF as a serious demented character was better than this, but that's not to say this was poor, it's absolutely fantastic!

No matter how they portrayed Goldust it seemed to almost always work. Dustin knocked the character out of the park, and Im not sure theres more than a handful of guys in the history of the business who could have done all those different variations of Goldust as well, or hell even straight faced.

Gotta agree with that. With that gimmick Dustin was gold.

I miss heel Goldust. How many years has it been?
The first year or two Goldust was around, he creeped the hell out of me. Closeup promos, wearing the wig, talking slowly and deeply. I sort of feared him and wanted the faces to destroy him.
I say make a Goldust heel turn and he could make a run as a top level heel. The WWE is short on really good heels right now. I think he could do awesome feuds with Cena, Batista, etc. I wonder if he could gain back credibility after being a Jobber to the stars for a while.

I hated stuttering Goldust. It was more stupid than funny.
My favourite Goldust era was in 2002 when he and Booker T were a tag team.

What is the deal with this? Was this a worked shoot? Or was this real? What year did this happen and was Dustin fired afterwards?

I have never seen it anywhere online or Youtube, but I even liked the promos Goldust began cutting after the Royal Rumble 2002 where he was stalking a wrestler.
It wound up being RVD, and their match was pretty decent if I recall.

I kinda like how he's the only superstar that somehow still is affected by ALL the various angles and incarnations of his character, even the stuff that contradicts the other stuff. He also does so with a sense of style seldom seen and still puts on a better than average match in the process.

But it's debatable whether it was planned from the start, when the Seven vignettes started airing, or whether WCW pulled the plug on the gimmick, because it was deemed too creepy, and had him go out and shoot on crazy gimmicks as a pop at the WWF. And if I remember correctly, he just wrestled as Dustin Runnels after that.
